I grew up in Winthrop so I have nothing but love for this small town. The store is clean and for the most part, organized. The meat department is the best part of the store. However, I am not too fond of the new owner. He's not from the area.
Pizza Ranch
I have gone here twice and both times I have been disappointed. The pizza that I want to have is always gone by the time I arrive and then I have to sit and wait 10 minutes. for a fresh pizza. They have other food there as well, but it's a Pizza Ranch; I am there for the pizza. I was disappointed and I would have much rather ordered from Papa John's.
Vali-Hi Drive In Theatre
It was a few years ago that I had experienced going to this drive-in. I didn't even know these still existed but I am glad I went. It wasn't the best movie (The Cell) but it was well worth the experience.
Shout House Dueling Pianos
This is the second piano bar I have been to and I was impressed with the talent. It was very entertaining. Some 'skits' were a bit vulgar for my comfort but it didn't ruin the night. Very VERY talented piano players.
Splashers Of The South Seas
I think the water-park looks like a lot of fun but what's keeping me from going is the price. For me and my family to spend a day there, it would be close to $50. So I am rating this water-park by price only. I have not actually been inside.
Conlin's Furniture
Last winter our pipes burst and had to pretty much buy all new furniture. We found Conlins in the business directory and decided to scope it out. I am glad we did. The furniture is high quality. Very sturdy. Plus, because of our situation, they were very kind and gave us a special discount. The only thing I didn't like was how the salesmen followed us around. I like to browse around without having a salesmen watching my every move.
Coffee Co
I never would have gone to this place if it wasn't for some friends of mine. My husband is a huge coffee drinker and so we decided to check out this little shoppe. They have over 15 different kinds of coffee beans to choose from. Anyway, I am NOT a coffee fan but my sister introduced me to chai tea. IT was delicious. I had the raspberry chai tea latte. Highly recommended.
Toucan International Market
My husband and I didn't even know about this market until some friends of ours told us. We've been looking for a place to buy curry products and I was impressed with the selection. We also got hooked on making our own sushi thanks to the owner of this fantastic little market.
Bekins Agent - Hanson Maves Company
Ever since I married a military man, I've had the experience of moving around every 3-4 years. It can be a stressful time but the movers at Hanson and Maves did a wonderful job for us. We've had some bad experiences with movers stealing and not taking very good care of our furniture so it was nice to finally find a company that is professional and trustworthy.
Bagheri M Md - Aurora Medical Park
I probably never would have gone here if I was referred to by my doctor on the air force base. I have had a few moles removed due to abnormal cells and I must say the scars aren't as bad as I thought. The nurses and Dr. Bagheri are so nice that it makes the whole experience a lot less nerve-wrecking. If you have any moles that you are concerned about PLEASE PLEASE get it checked out!!
