My husband usually enjoy a quick trip up to the cities for a night out on our anniversary. The place we always stay is the Kelly Inn. We love that they have a stay and play package, including a voucher to use at the Green Mill which is attached to the hotel. They have a nice pool and you get two tickets to a show. It is a very good deal. My dad used to do performances there when he was alive so it's nice to go and reminisce also.
We recently wanted to go see New In Town at this theater. We drove about 20 miles and when we arrived they were sold out of tickets. My warning would be to call ahead prior to you show time to determine if seats are available. Older theater, needs some updates, but has current new showings of movies.
My son had tubes May 1, 2007 with Dr. Nissen. The procedure was explained in depth. He visited with us in the pre op area. Dr. Nissen is always reassuring. Despite my son having tubes placed, he still has had several ear infections since and Dr. Nissen has had him come in, he removes the fluid, and we are on prophylactic ear drops. I think going to him as our specialists as family practice recommended oral. I feel more comfortable with treating the localized infection and he explained all of our options for our child.
We have seen Dr. Stephens for my son when he's had his chronic ear infections. He was the first to talk about seeing ENT, which we did, and my son eventually had tubes, and things have been much better. He is gentle and takes time for his patients.
I went to Dr. Knighton up until we moved from Duluth 1 1/2 years ago. She is very kind, and very receptive to the needs of her patient's over the phone. She is straight to the point, but seems like she acts like she is somewhere else sometimes. She is an older physician, moving to Duluth from Florida.
When we go to visit my sister and other family in Grand Forks we usually end up at the Panda Restaurant. I think it is a decent chinese buffet, I have never tried the Mongolian side. The prices are reasonable. Could be a little cleaner. As a nurse I always think it is weird that you grab your own dessert out of the cooler, but I guess you are serving yourself within the buffet itself.
Just went there tonight with my husband and fell in love again, with the restaurant, I always love him. I got the Ma's Santini, which is steak stuffed with a surprise, and alfredo. My husband got mushrooms which we shared and went well with both dishes. You get a complimentary beer or glass of house wine with many menu items, always a good thing. Is best to go between 5 and 7 less crowded, after 7 you kind of feel like you are sitting on strangers. I will definitely go again.
We have used Mount Royal Fine Foods for their bakery for many events. They have the best frosting and the best cakes you could ever find anywhere. We used them for both of our sons baptisms, our college graduations, birthdays, and for pregnancy cravings, they have 8x8 cakes for purchase. The rest of the store is very eye appealing, but the bakery is the best part.
I walked into 2nd Wind today, not knowing what to expect. I have the 3 day breast cancer walk and a half marathon coming up to train for and our treadmill died recently. I was going to go in just to look, but left with a new treadmill. I couldn't resist the deals! I was so pleased with the service every detail of my purchase was explained. They will deliver our machine and set it up, which is a load off many men in our lives back :) It is Saturday and they will be calling Monday already to set up a time for delivery and they have a 0% financing option for 24 months.
This is a great place to bring a child to let them run off some nervous energy. My oldest son went almost every Thursday until we moved away from Duluth 1 1/2 years ago. You paid $5 a session or could buy a punch card. He loved to jump on the trampoline, jump into the "circus" balls, and the fan being turned on at the end to blow bubbles. Sometimes kids weren't disciplined for not taking turns, that is the only problem, the one at a time rule was sometimes hard for parents and kids to follow.
