We had to get our house tented and we were led to this business. We scheduled an appointment and they were promptly on time. They were able to provide an reasonable estimate and they were able to explain what we should be looking for. Their service was satisfactory.
Grinder Restaurant
Close to the USC campus, I came here a few times to chow down on the sandwiches. Reasonably priced, you can bring the family here for a casual meal. The staff was very friendly.
Tala's Restaurant
Small little quaint restaurant in a strip mall. You can eat in or take out. I've found them to be very reasonable in price. The folks are very nice. I usually go here for the burritos but at times, I get the enchiladas.
Skating Edge
I agree with the other reviewers... the inside of this rink could use a big face uplift. As of 1/09, the rink is undergoing some new construction work. Hopefully they will address this problem. As far as skating, my kids have gone to skating lessons there and thoroughly enjoyed it. They were able to practice in the free skate period afterward. I've heard that they also hosted skating birthday parties, which we were considering.
Roosevelt Municipal Golf Course
Surprisingly, this is a nice place to play golf and take in the scenery. Love playing this 9-hole course after work where you can overlook the downtown skyline. Course is challenging, especially if you're a novice.
Monterey Park Golf Course
Spent many a nights after work at this course. It is convenient to downtown. Driving range. Most importantly - cheap. As for the course, it's great for beginners. There are 2 holes where you can use your driver - the rest are iron shots. Have a beer afterward!
LA Fonda Restaurant
We went here for a group luncheon one afternoon. The waitress we had was great. Typical mexican fare for the menu - it was satisfactory... nothing spectacular.
A & E Trophy & Engraving
When I needed to get a plaque for our little league coach, this is the place we went. They listened to what we were trying to do and were able to give us some suggestions. Comparably priced, we were able to pick up our order in a reasonable time.
Bartolo School Photography
This company was contracted to do my kids' school pictures for the past 4 years. I've found their pictures to be acceptable. They have a choice of backgrounds now where in the earlier days, they didn't. According to the kids, the photographers were "fun".
California Metals Recycling
I brought the aluminum cans that I'd saved up over the years to this place for recycling. They have a sign out front that shows the going rate for a pound of aluminum. Had a little trouble at first - on my first trip, not knowing what to do. After fumbling around, realized I had to fill their cart up and then bring it over to the scales. Paid right there.
