This is a restaurant or a pub, depending on where you want to be. The food is great, the beer is good, the service is excellent. There are comfy chairs in the corner (not many, so grab one while you can). An excellent place for dinner, or to just grab a drink.
The peanut roaster is a great little shop, very specialized but great. Check out their specials, they usually have something fun on sale. They have more than just the normal roasts, so there is something for every taste here. And a few lovely chocolate (non-peanut items) as well.
For the admission price this is a bargain. The pool is always well staffed with lifeguards. There are always a few lanes that are designated for those who wish to swim laps and a separate area for the kids to play in. It is well worth getting a locker from the front desk to keep your stuff safe in the locker room (usually a quarter to rent, or leave a license).
If you are looking to pick up books for less than you would pay at most bookstores this is a great place to shop. The selection is pretty good for a used bookstore, and the staff is fairly well read.
Char Grill is always great, with hot fresh food made to order. Its fun watching the crew fix the food while you wait. Eating outside is fun the summer, sitting side by side with strangers enjoying a great burger, and even better milkshakes.
And best yet, they are open late, for those nights when you need a little something before heading home.
This is a great place to buy cakes for those special occasions. I have bought several for a few occasions and would love to work my way through their whole menu. They are that good.
This a great little neighborhood place. The kind of place that if you come often enough, you will run into everyone you know. The food is great, the atmosphere comfortable and the staff excellent.
This is a great Italian place, excellent service and good prices. The food is always outstanding and the decor is delightful. Its such a great place to go for a special occasion or any time. You will feel comfortable if you go in a prom dress, cocktail dress or jeans.
If you are looking for country cooking and service where the waitress will call you 'Hon', then you have got to head to Big Ed's. But be warned, if you go on a weekend, check the hours and be prepared to wait in line. This is a local favorite, so the line for Sat breakfast can get a little long, but its worth it.
The food is great and this is one of the hippest Chinese places in Raleigh. The decor is trendy and fun, and it is a hopping place to be on weekends after dinner.
