Hennes Carpet & Tile Cleaning
We use Hennes Carpet Cleaning at work and they are great. We are in an office building with high traffic. They come out regularly and clean our carpet. It looks so clean and smells so clean for several days after they come out. There workers are very professional and if we need anything extra the lady on the phone is go helpful and nice - I can remember her name. They definitely go the extra mile. I do not know what they charge but they are definitely worth the quality of work they do.
From Home To Home Thrift Store
This is a very nice Thrift Store for a small town. They always have interesting items that people donate. You know what they say-one man's junk is another man's treasure. You can find those treasures here. They have sales from time to time that are not the same day so call and ask when the next sale is. The customer service is fine as well and if you have any questions, they will answer them or find the answer. It is cleaner then most thrift stores.
Elden's Food Fair
Elden's by fair has the BEST cookies around. My favorite is the molasses cookies. I can not find cookies that taste this good. They have a ton of cookies to choose from. My son's favorite is the chocolate chip. When my in laws go to Alex for vacation, they always make sure to bring me back some molasses cookies from Elden's!!
Canary Beach Resort
We have stayed at Canary Beach Resort several times. We like to stay on the off season because their prices are cheaper and it is not so crowded. But with staying in the off season comes downfalls. One year, Harold was pouring some sort of chemical in the water--and we couldn't fish the rest of the time we were there. One other time, Harold and Rosemary were busy building their home and so we had quite a few construction vehicles on site and then a lot of construction noise. Wasn't real nice when we were trying to enjoy the peace and quite. Other than that, Harold and Rosemary are very nice people and will go the extra mile to make sure your stay is pleasurable. The cabins are a decent size as well. Their daughter is usually home from school and is also very friendly. We will probably go back but it wouldn't be our first choice.
Pilgrim Point Camp
We went to this camp ground as kids for church camp for church and had a blast!! Now my kids attend camp there. If you have the opportunity to send your kids there, do it. They have awesome counselors, great cabins, and even better campfires!!! They have daily activities that will occupy your kids and they will have a blast!!
American Family Insurance- Katie Bard
We called this agent to get a quote for our car insurance. For some reason, the quote was very high. I questioned it because we had called another American Family Insurance and the quote was about $50 cheaper per month. We had called this one because it was closer to our home. I don't know anything about insurance so it was difficult to ask those questions as to why the difference in rates. I was honest with each insurance agent but for some reason get different quotes. We did end up going with the other agent because of the monthly savings.
Hill View Motel
We stayed here one evening when we lived out of town and wanted to stay somewhere cheap after an exhausting day at Valleyfair. We didn't want anything special and that is definitely what you get. We had asked for where an ice bucket was and they wanted to charge us for the bucket. Needless to say, we didn't need the bucket that bad to pay for it!! I would only recommend this place as a very last resort. You get what you pay for.
Carl's Corner
They by-far have the best fried chicken around. My in laws come from 2 hours away to stay in New Ulm to eat at Carl's corner. The service isn't always the best but they are usually packed. They serve canned soda--so if you are thirsty, you will have to pay for the refills!!
Cc Military Surplus
This is a neat little store that is jammed packed with military items. My husband was in the Army and could spend hours in this store. The staff is very knowledgeable and they love to talk. They hooked my husband into a paintball match that he had a blast at!!! My husband and son loved looking at all the many old patches that are displayed and for sale. Prices are great as well. Highly recommend!!
Kleinbank
I have been banking for several years with Klein Bank and love it. Either going in to do my banking or going through the drive-thru, they are very friendly and courteous. They constantly have fun contests inside to guess this or guess that, the kids love it!!!
