Antiquarian Books Of Boston
I love books - all kinds, no matter what genre. Antiquarian Books Of Boston smells like old books - which is a good thing, in my opinion. I love second hand books; it makes me feel like the book already has history to it, even before I get my hands on them. Such a guilty pleasure. I love making new bookstore discoveries and the Antiquarian is a great find.
Book Oasis
The Book Oasis is a great little book store. Small, local and very friendly, they carry a decent selection of titles, although the children's selection seems to take up most of it. Love the suit of armor they have!!
New England Comics
Yet another comic book treasure trove....New England Comics is making me look awfully good in the eyes of my little cousin. I've picked up a couple of comics here (with the help of the staff of course) that make me a hero at home.
Harrison's Comics
When I heard about Harrison's Comics, I had to stop in. My little cousin is an avid comic book fan, so I was able to pick up a few for him. The whole comic book scene is lost on me, but I did appreciate how things were organized. Plus the guys in the shop were super helpful
Bohemian Coffee House
The Bohemian Coffee House is home to good coffee but even better homemade muffins. I thought I had enough to be thankful for whenever I find a truly good cup of coffee. Lo and behold - this little shop of wonders houses a true master baker, who's not afraid to showcase interesting varieties of muffins. If you try just one - any flavor, it doesn't matter - you'll be hooked.
Gail Ann Coffee Shop
A visit to the Gail Ann Coffee Shop can take away a bout of homesickness in nothing flat. Their donuts and muffins are to die for and their coffee is just the way I like it - not bitter. Really, this is a great coffee shop to just take a couple of minutes to kick back and breathe.
College Book Store
I was able to sell some of my books at the College Book Store. At the suggestion of a friend, I went their and was pleasantly surprised how much I was able to get. Good tip from a good friend.
Winslow Coffee Emporium
Not bad for a cup of joe. My roomies and I stopped by the Winslow Coffee Emporium one weekend before starting our thrift store trek. I thought their coffee was a little on the bitter side, but after some rock sugar and cream, all was well in my caffeine world again.
Coffee Time
Coffee Time was a great little find, thanks once more to the intrepid caffeine addicts in my study group. My parents think I came to Boston to get a higher education - in a way, I am. Coffee is higher learning, isn't it?? :) Coffee Time's character and ambiance is in the owner's care and concern that everyone is a happy camper when he/she gets their order. Quite a nice trait, in my opinion.
Nameless Coffee House
What a treat! I had no idea what I was in for when a bunch of my friends took me to the Nameless Coffee House for coffee, pastries and live entertainment. It was great! They have all volunteers who work at the coffee house and provide a venue for local up and coming talent to perform in the small, intimate setting. It was worth getting there so early to secure seating. I can't wait to go back!
