Bunjees Comics
Customer service is very friendly here. There is very large selection of comic books, figurines, and games (board games and card games). The store is situated in a easy to find area. They are a little pricey for gaming and collectible items though. They don't always open promptly and the do have short hours.
Baby Jane's Home Cooking
Some coworkers and I often go here. They have a large buffet that changes meats and sides daily. I prefer fried green tomato days. All the servers are friendly. The price is very reasonable and includes the price of tea. I would recommend this place.
Daruma Japanese Restaurant
This is our favorite Japanese Steakhouse. The hibachi experience is very enjoyable to our son who loves the fire volcano. The chefs are always friendly and the servers are very attentive to your needs. Daruma is only open in the evenings and there is often a wait on Friday and Saturday nights. If you are looking for great Japanese in Conyers, this is it.
Nagoya Japanese Restaurant
If you are looking for a good Japanese Restaurant in Covington, this is the place. We often have groups from work that go here and the service is fast for lunch. The prices are also alot more affordable at lunch time than dinner.
Cowthorn, Timothy, Do - Robinson Ob/Gyn
Robinson OBGYN has been my OBGYN for several years now. Dr Cowthorn delivered my son via c-section at Rockdale Medical Center and I had no problems. All prenatal visits were quick and professional through out the pregnancy. During my pregnancy I was rotated through the midwifes and doctors to make sure I saw everyone at least once because you never know who might be on call when you deliver. I would recommend this practice to others looking for an OBGYN in the area.
Alida N. Arroyo, MD
Dr Arroyo was my child's doctor from Jan 08 - Sept 08. She always took the time to explain in detail what she was checking for and the diagnosis. I never felt rushed while it was my turn with the doctor. Dr Arroyo is listed as an Asthma Specialist on the Conyers Pediatrics website. I would definitely recommend this pediatrician for any child that has asthma.
Kangaroo Kids
This place has been renamed Woody's. We have been here recently on a Monday afternoon. The place was not crowded at all. There were plenty of inflatables for my son to jump on and climb through. They have a giant inflatable basketball goal that he really enjoyed. Parents can jump free and for kids you can buy a 10 pack pass for a reduced rate. For the parents is a large screened TV and wifi, but bring your own computer. We will definitely be returning to here.
Noah's Ark Animal Rehab Ctr
We just visited Noah's Ark last weekend and had a good time. There are plenty picnic tables right outside the gates and people were picnicing, having birthday parties, and family reunions. There are plenty of animals to see as you wind thru the trails. My child's favorite animal was the zebra named Evidence. Definitely bring a stroller or wagon to pull the kids around in as there is plenty of walking to do. Also at the gate there was a fundraiser for snow cones and bottled water. There is a new playground being built that looked almost finished. The only downside is the animal habitat has very limited hours of Tues-Sat from 12 pm - 3 pm. Morning hours would definitely be better due to the hot summer sun. I would recommend this place as a great place to take the kids.
O B's Bar Bq
We just ate here today for the Mother's Day Special. All moms eat free with at least one paying person per mom. We were a party of 4, with two moms. We were given special Mother Day Menus to choose a free entree from. The food was great. The service was lacking. Our waitress said she had to work from 9-8 today and had 13 tables. She did apologize for the wait for her to acknowledge us. When she brought us the check, the waitress said only one mother could eat free. We objected and said she should have informed us of this fact before we ordered because we would have ordered something different and not only off the Mother's Day menu. The waitress went to spoke to someone and came back and said ok, no problem. Then at checkout we still had issues with them charging for drinks that were not ordered, but on the bill. Eventually the billing issues were resolved. The food is original and cooked in the pit out back. I would recommend this restaurant for the food, but not necessarily for the service.
Regal Cinemas
We use this theater occasionally and the prices do seem high, but this is the only theater locally unless you want to drive to Southlake Mall so you just have to pay the prices. Adults are $9.50 at night and matinees are $7.50. Matinees used to be about $5 - $6. The children's rates start at age 2 and those are $7.50 also. The seats are comfortable with the arm rests that raise up and all the auditoriums are stadium style seating. On weekends this theater is usually packed with teens and has police cars out front so we try to stear clear of those times. The times I recommend going are weekdays. On weekdays the theater is usally pretty slow, so it is a great time to go.
