I ordered a couple of items 9 weeks ago. Half of the items were damaged, and had to be replaced. It's been another 5 weeks. I have called maybe 3 or 4 times to pleasantly check delivery of the replacement parts. Today, I went by the store - in hindsight: a mistake maybe.
When I pull in the owner had just walked out the front door. He looks at me and says "aww, crap (chit)" (I saw him and heard him clearly.) and does an about face and follows me into the store. I asked the Henrietta behind the counter when the furniture might be in, she asks my name and the mfg involved. The owner pipes in with "we just received notification today that it shipped on the 21st. It's coming from the east coast". I said that I had been told that it shipped 3 times in the last 2 weeks, was this time any different. He says yeah, it'll be a few more days. I said "whatever, if you're sure this time. I headed for the door and threw it open, the door hit the frame and I walked away. The owner Mike Wilson comes out and begins a stream of profanity that disgusted me & pissed me off. Well, not really, but he tried to be big Mr Billy Badass. Standing right in my face (6 inches) "did I try to break the door? eff this and eff that, he'll shove his foot up my ass, people like me, blah, blah, blah, I'm a piece of chit (crap) and I should tell my friends to never shop there, etc, etc, while spraying spittle on my shirt. Unfortunately he never would touch me, but he even stood real tall and resorted to a "you effing dwarf!" comment WTF? I'm 6' and he's like 6'2". Neither one of us is a midget in an average crowd. I did mention that he should back the efff up out of my face, and if I'd wanted to break the door it would absolutely positively been broken. He told me to send someone else to pick up my stuff, and I just said nah, I'll be back. He told me to bring a witness... REALLY? A witness? His worker and Henrietta came out and pulled him back in the store, but I'm sitting here still very irritated.
As mentioned everything they sell is "special ordered" and "non-returnable" from a catalog, and I need them to have a matched set. The wife is going to the credit card company to delay payment or get the money back for product not received yet. I'll be filing a report with the BBB also, and may press charges for threatening to assault me.
Well, I took the Sheriff as my witness to pick up the furniture which was apparently received on 2/10, 20 days after "it was shipped" on Jan 21st. I didn't have to talk to Mike again, but the employee who got my stuff says the boss needs mental counseling for "anger management". What a joke!
Stan's donuts are good when they're warm, but they're certainly not worth having to order 2 days in advance... That's completely rediculous! We just (3:15pm on Thursday) tried to order 2 doz donuts for tomorrow morning (6:30am on Friday), and we were told that they should have been ordered yesterday (Wednesday, REALLY?)!
WTF is wrong with this picture?
I mean come on!! if you are that busy every day, buy another donut fryer for crying out loud. The place is huge, there is plenty of unused space in there. Supply should at least attempt to meet demand. Make more donuts!
The guy on the phone is still a real jerk, and we wont be calling them back - ever. Hello Psycho Donuts, or even Safeway in a pinch, here we come! Nobody complains about the donuts at my work, why worry about Stan?
I went to All American Sports Cards looking for some 49er and NASCAR gifts for family. They have a great selection of local team items, NASCAR items, and beannie baby / pokemon items for the kids. I was able to find a couple of early Oakland A's cards @ really decent pricing ($20) for my cousin, and an autographed mini 49er helmet for my brother. They also provide framing services or the autographed photos they sell.
This store is near my daughter's dance class, so I went in to check it out. They have a decent selection of cigars, but mostly sell cigarettes.
I was able to pick up a couple standby favorite cohibas, but I would go to another shop if I wanted to get good cigars.
The employee was not very helpful with the cigars, and he was pretty difficult to understand too.
I had a few minutes to kill, and was walking by Smoker's Paradise. They are a nice little shop with all of things you would expect, and a few things that might surprise you.
The employee was knowledgeable and helpful. Although they don't have a lot of things that interested me, it's still a great little headshop.
I went to Advanced Truck Accessories to get a lift for my truck on the recommendation of one of my friends. I also heard they are qualified and contracted to install the Fox kits for the dealerships, so I figured they could certainly handle my truck.
The prices were competitive, and they had the parts in stock - so no waiting. The job was done in 2 days, complete with an alignment. I have never looked back, but now I have to look down!
S & S Welding created some odd sized containers for us at work. Those guys can (and do) all types of manufacturing. I think they have been in business for more than 80 years, and in this valley that is a huge compliment. Their facility is huge, and they were able to make our tight deadline, without any trouble.
They also have some mobile welding trucks, so if you need something repaired that is too large to take in, they can come to you.
I basically trust Drake Welding with my life - well you know what I mean... Drake Welding makes awesome lumber racks. I have loaded the rack on my truck with HUGE loads of wood, and never had a problem with it. As I drive down the road with all that weight over my head, I don't even worry about it for a second because I know my lumber rack will be fine.
I just have a standard bed mounted truck rack, but those guys can build anything you want, and even do custom work for off road vehicles too.
I used Selix Formal Wear to rent the tuxedos for my wedding. They were very professional, and were able to set us up with some fantastic tuxes - tails and all. The cummerbund choices were almost too much. I actually had the guys take a vote in order to decide. The fittings were done very efficiently, and we were on our way. I even had to have my brother, who lives out of town, fax his measurements down. When the tuxedos arrived, they were able to make some necessary adjustments right on site.If you want to look your best, I would highly recommend Selix.
We took our Yorkie to the ladies at Canine Showcase. Although the place is small, they do a very steady business. They do both dogs and cats, so if you're allergic, don't stay very long. I am allergic to cats, and was a sneezing fool in less than 10 minutes. I was able to drop Snickers off in the morning and pick him up after work, which was very convenient.
They did a great job on his hair cut, which was the low - maintenance "puppy cut", as opposed to the floor length "show" cut. He's a nervous little guy, but they were patient and gentle with him and they said he settled down quickly.
I would gladly recommend Sanchia as a great groomer.
