I owned a Volvo for ten years and always had it serviced at Al Johnson Volvo. They always did such a great job, always provided me with a loaner car, and made sure that I was completely satisfied before leaving.
The groomers at Kelsey's Dog House really care about the well being of the dogs. I have 3 tiny Yorkies and they not only groom them well, they take such good care of them while they are there. I would highly recommend their services!
Thornton Lakes is by far my favorite fabric store. I travel from Georgia to Alabama, just for this store. My aunt introduced me to Thornton Lakes many years ago and since then I have returned for various reasons. I recently reupholstered my daughters' antique couch and arm chairs and got the best fabric (especially for the price) from TL. They have so many options for upholstery, as well as for clothing.
Powell's is another favorite lunch spot for my friends and myself. I will go and meet a lot of my coworkers for lunch. The food is great, especially on Fridays, the service is fast, and the atmosphere takes you back to the good old days.
Parker's Restaurant is a great place to go for lunch, especially if you're in a hurry. They have excellent vegetables and wonderful desserts. It's a family restaurant and the service is great.
Athlete's World is a great place to shop for rec. league sports, uniforms, trophies, and much more. They also take care of high school Letterman jackets and patches, and local schools/mascot attire.
Prime Time Hobby & Speedway caters to people who like to build model cars and race cars. It's a great place to go for derby supplies, especially for Boy Scouts. They have so much to choose from in regards to building and racing model cars.
Sewsue is a great fabric store located in downtown Calhoun. It is one of the only fabric stores in the area (Dalton, Calhoun, Adairsville). They have a lot of different fabrics (for clothing, upholstery, etc.) and accessories for all of your sewing needs.
1902 Stock Exchange is quaint and cute. It's a lot like Wall Street Trading in Calhoun. There's a little cafe area and lots of antiques, so you can shop while you snack.
Showcase Antiques & Interiors has a lot of nice furniture and accessories, but the prices tend to be too high. It's better to go here for interior (drapes and curtains, etc.) needs, rather than antique shopping. Some of the furniture is very heavy and can be gaudy, but other pieces can be quite nice.
