This is a wonderful cafe in Hayes Valley. The sandwiches are really tasty. Parking here can be difficult and you should expect to wait in line on the weekends due to the trendy location. I got a sandwich and an espresso drink here for lunch recently and really enjoyed it.
I came here for lunch by myself recently and loved it. I had a spicy chicken dish. I can't wait to come back for dinner. The food is so flavorful and the staff is wonderful -- very friendly and warm. They definitely brag about their sangria! The restaurant is very airy and pleasant.
This is a wonderful, family-friendly Cole Valley restaurant. The pizzas are great for sharing. Your kids can watch them throw the pizza dough here. It's also the best choice for takeout pizza in the area. Recently they had some promotions featuring discounts during the week, so you might want to check those out before stopping by!
I've come by this place for iced tea or coffee after work. There are usually a lot of people typing essays on their Mac laptops. The decor is modern but cozy. The girl working behind the counter was very friendly. It's quiet enough to be a good study spot, but not so silent you'd feel uncomfortable having a quiet conversation here.
I love coming to this place for drinks at night. They have wonderful beer on tap at reasonable prices. It's in the Mission, so it does attract many hipsters, but it's got a pretty good mix of people most nights. They also play great music. I love that they have booths in the back -- it's great for a group.
We used to come here for lunch sometimes when I worked downtown. The food was always very delicious. I love all their salads. My favorite part about this place is the wonderful people watching. On a sunny day, it's so wonderful to sit outside here.
This is a wonderful stop during your night out in North Beach. It has a great indoor-outdoor feel due to the large patio. The weekends usually draw crowds. This area tends to appeal to the post-college to mid-30s set. It's located near many of the other bars so you can stop into several. I've been here several times, but I never really noticed how strange the decor was until recently!
This is a great place to come for a break if you're shopping in Union Square. It's in a perfect location right on the square. My only complaint is that my friend order decaf and I ordered regular, and they didn't tell us which one was which! Aside from this oversight, the drinks were good.
I sometimes come here to pick up lunch during work. It's reasonably priced and their sandwiches are so amazing! They have a very extensive sandwich menu, so allow some time to look it up and down! They have all the classics plus some unusual options.
I love coming to hot cookie on cold San Francisco nights for cookies and hot chocolate. Their cookies are really big and always tasty. This is a very small storefront, so you'll probably eat on the run. It's really close to the amazing Castro theater. Be warned that they have some profane desserts for sale, so you might want to think twice before bringing your conservative aunt. Then again, she might love it. Who knows?
