Memphis At The Santora

This restaurant is in a historical building in the heart of the downtown artist's district. The food was exceptional. We sat outside; it was very noisy in the restaurant. It was noisy outside too though, because both Memphis and the restaurant a few yards across the walking path were both playing music. That was a bit annoying.

It was a cool night, and it took quite a while for someone to light the outdoor heater.

But I will eat here again in a heartbeat. The food was THAT good.

China Palace

I love this place, from the colorful yellow walls, to the different rooms, to the cozy booths. This place is BIG. The food is that usual Chinese fare with 16 pages of choices, including that all time favorite, the bird nest.

It's all good. Everyone here is friendly, all the dishes I've tried are good, and pricing is reasonable. I even get coupons in the val pak mailings.

I'm surprised that more people don't dine here...it always seems 1/2 empty. It's really worth your while to try the China Palace!

Maki Zushi

I ate my first ever LIVE shrimp here. And I screamed as it moved in my mouth! This may be one of the few restaurants that serve them the authentic, Japanese way.

And wasabi? Well, that green paste we've been eating is NOT wasabi. You can ask for REAL wasabi here. And it is smooth, tasty, delicious, and not green!

Great atmosphere; great sushi chefs. Bring lots of $$$$s. It's worth it!!!

I have been here twice, and have a tried a variety of dishes. Everything is exceptional!

Tommy's Sushi Japanese Restaurant

This is a great place to go for a sushi fix when you're on the budget! And it's good. I have tried a variety of delectable here, and have not been disappointed. While the dishes I had are pretty standard, there were nicely prepared and tasty.

There are lots of semi-private booths here, so you can have a decent conversation with a friend here as you enjoy a meal.

Sushi Five

Sushi 5 is entertaining; they have a conveyor belt system, so your order is placed on it, and you just grab it when it comes your way. This does mean that you have to pay attention! Your party is assigned a number or color, and it is uncool to touch anyone else's food as it passes by.

On Fridays, they have a $1.50 plate deal (used to be $1.00). It's fun; you just grab whatever you want. They will take special orders as well, at the regular price. It gets crowded, 'cause this is such a deal.

The food? Most of it is pretty standard, but they do have a few pricey rolls that are incredibly yummy.

Tokyo Lobby Restaurant

The food at Tokyo Lobby is good. I have been here several times, and always tried something different. Decent pricing too. The menu is interesting; it's just photos. So, forget about getting takeout!

The decor is nice; it's pleasant in there. But nothing to really write home about.

Guru Palace

This was an odd little restaurant. It's very small; maybe 10 tables, and more outside in a covered area. It smelled like ammonia, so it was very clean! Not much to see as far as decor. The waiter was a bit snide, which would have been OK in NJ, but not in CA. Food was good and tasty. One other party came in as we were eating. That was it.

I will give them another opportunity, because I did enjoy the food.

Amy Sushi

I've only actually eaten IN this restaurant 2X; it is very small; but I get takeout from them about 3X a month. They have an exceptional, creative treat....sushi taco! Spicy tuna and avocado on a flat tortilla chip, with a little bit of a creamy orange sauce...these are additive and incredibly delicious!!

Their menu has lots of illustrations, making it easy to see new items to try. And the list is extensive! Total Yum!

Hypnotic Salon

Have been having my hair done here for several years. Tiffany is the best, and my hair rocks because of her!!

I always have an enjoyable time when I'm at the Hypnotic Salon. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Check them out in Old Town Tustin!

Uoko Japanese Cuisine

Been coming here for 8 years now! This is my friendly neighborhood Japanese restaurant. Especially fun to sit at the sushi bar on Friday nights!

Friday and Saturday nights the atmosphere is fun and noisy...busy busy busy!

All the food is great; I love their seaweed salad. They also have a salad with seafood that makes a great, healthy low-carb meal!

We do takeout a lot from here too!
