I am very fortunate to have delivered a healthy, beautiful baby 2.5 years ago. Dr. Kalish was the doctor on call and delivered my daughter. She was cold and rude. I was in labor for 28 hours, exhausted and in pain (the epidural wore off 4 hours before I gave birth). She was in and out of the room when I was "pushing." She put me in the hands of a very nice but very green 20 year old nurse who admitted that she had limited experience. I would push and close my eyes and Dr. Kalish would leave the room without telling me he was leaving. This was in the middle of "pushing". At one point, exasperated, in pain and scared I said "You're F--ing leaving again?" She paused, made me apologize for using profanities in her delivery room. I apologized profusely and only then would she continue. I finally gave birth and she cut the cord without asking my husband who was in the room if he wanted the honors. She never came back to check on me and certainly did not follow up with me after.I have been too upset to write about this but I am pregnant again and I am searching for another doctor. She is cold, lacks compassion and does not care about her patients. I would never go back to her and she made my experience horrible. However, I do have a healthy daughter and for that I am grateful.
