Bella Mia is a full service spa and it's first class all the way. From the Blerta (her mom) and staff (very professional) to the comfy atmosphere. Best pedis & manis I ever had!
Days Salon is another nice hair salon for all types of hair including african-american. Magid(hair stylist) is the one that did my hair, and he's very good. The parking is just horrible, so I had to find another place more convenient. But, if parking is not an issue for you I will recommend this hair salon as well. The other stylist at Days Salon are equally qualified.
Park 52 has a beautiful & Classy design. The menu only has a few choices so not much to pick from. But, what I do like is that they are kid friendly (kids menu). I ordered the ribs, and they were tasty and tender.
Luciano's is great for fast food. I use them when I want to order catering for parties. They have large chicken wings/tasty and fairly reasonable. They are quick, just make sure you call your order in ahead of time and pay. I have also tried other things on their menu (turkey spaghetti, fish and pastas) are also good.
I have been going to Andy's for a little over a year and I just love the way he does my hair (relaxer, cut and style). Andy & staff are always very professional and you can also get your eyebrows threaded here as well (Kathy). Parking can be a bit of a hassle so bring plenty of quarters. Andy does all types of hair including african-american.
Dixie Kitchen is a nice restaurant if you like southern cooking. Shrimp Po Boy is one of my favorites and the pancakes they serve you as an appetizer. I would go more often but they are usually very packed and wait to eat is very long. They should expand this location.
If you want a beautiful flowers for any occasions or need accessories for prom this is the place for you. Russell is the one that does the arrangements for B of Hawaii and the are simply beautiful and reasonably priced. I have even went there at the last minute and he put something amazing together for me in less than 15 minutes. Thanks Again, Russell
Pizza Capri is nice restaurant for Italian style food. Chicken Parmesan is tasty and so are the salads and appetizers. The pizza was my least favorite meal on the menu. But, it's in a nice location and scenery (Hyde Park). I would go to Giordano's if you want pizza.
I don't care what anyone says but Italian Fiesta is #1 for pizza in Chicago. Yes, it's a little greasy but I like they way the flavor the pizza. I have been eating this pizza for over 20 years and they are still #1 in my mind.
Bob's Shrimp is very good seafood joint if you are looking for shrimp, catfish, frog legs, fish & chips, cheesesticks etc...on the go. It's carryout only! Mild, hot sauce and crackers come with. Call and place your order before you go (very busy on the weekends).
