Hepcat Productions
Best lindy dance instructor in Seattle=Chris Chapman. He actually pays attention to how to lead and follow and tries to teach good habits from the beginning, which leads to very good results.
Yazdi II-Wallingford Center
Lots of swami-type wear, primarily for middle-aged women. Which is not to say it's not good; their sundress selection is awesome, if you don't mind slightly hippie. In Seattle, good sundresses can be hard to get your hands on.
Antika
I thoroughly enjoy the window displays for this store as I pass on the bus. Inside, there's lots to look at, all outside my preferred price range. If you like antique as opposed to thrift, vintage as opposed to used, this might be the place for you.
Alexa's Garden Cafe
Beautiful location in the midst of Swanson's greenery, totally relaxing and bright even on cloudy days. It's become more of a sit-down place than the coffeeshop it used to be, which is okay, but the space really encourages lingering. Food is traditional with a leaning towards diner, open faced sandwiches, big salads, etc.
Neptune Coffee
A beautiful place, with fantastic signage. Coffee was good, pastry selection okay. My biggest problem is that it's a long, narrow space without a lot of seats; difficult to feel homey. Most of the people inside are laptop/cell phoning, not chatting, or watching for the #5 bus desperately.
Pillagers Pub
Hard seats, but a reasonable food menu. I think there are better places for beer, but the outside seating can be nice in summer. Certainly expands options in Greenwood.
Indoor Sun Shoppe
Fantastic selection of carnivorous plants. Prices for basics like peat can be high, but the plants are what you should be there for anyway--well taken care of, ready for transplant at your house.
Paseo Caribbean Restaurant
Same delicious sandwiches, with parking and close enough to take 'em hot to Golden Gardens. Utterly delicious grilled onions and spicy sauce on sandwiches makes them vanish.
Greenwood Space Travel Supply
Wonderful amazing greatness packaged in puns and delightful space hilarity. Worth a long look, and you might find a gift for someone who's very difficult to buy for--especially if they're a geek. All proceeds benefit tutoring programs and all products are designed by tutors or students.
Ken's Market
Very good selection, but also high prices. Worth it if you live nearby and want to support local business, but prices are not close to comparison with larger chains.
