Although their Chaat Corner is literally a small stall in the back corner of the store with no seating or anything, I am hooked! It is absolutely amazing! I am usually crazy about the ambiance of my food places, but don't let this place fool you. It's an absolute must if you like chaat! I loved pani puri as a kid, but after having it here, I can no longer enjoy it anywhere else as the pani puri elsewhere doesn't even come close. I've tried to re-create the flavor at home and tried many different mixes, but unfortunately everything tastes flavorless in comparison and I have to make my way to Dana Bazaar when I get my pani puri cravings.
I'm definitely not a fan of the place. I had been going to a salon in Hayward for quite a while, but when that lady closed shop I was desperate and came here for a couple months. I definitely was not a fan of the quick-in and quick-out mentality of this place along with the lack of shape to my eyebrows. Most other places, I am usually ecstatic after seeing my cleaned-up brows, but this place never left me feeling that way. It just seemed too rushed. On top of that, one of the ladies that works here was just flat out rude on several occasions! It made me give up on indian beauty salons for a while. Normally I would just put up with it, but luckily we're in the bay area where there are tons of options. Now I trust my face mostly to a vietnamese salon where my beautician actually takes her time to make my eyebrows look good and for a good Indian place, I prefer to drive over to Berkeley on weekends.
I absolutely love Chaat Cafe and was so happy to see it popping up in more and more locations in California. I have to say, however, that the Fremont and SF location are my favorites. Although I frequent the Berkeley location and have been to the ones in the Sacramento region, the service here is super quick in comparison and the food is consistently good. I love the paneer pakora and the spicy seekh kabob wrap best. Whether in the bay area or in the Sacramento region, I'm constantly introducing more and more people to Chaa Cafe and so far, I haven't had a single friend who disagrees..this place is delicious!
I like going in every couple months for a wonderful pick-me-up! I'm not usually picky about sticking with the same stylist, so I've had my hair done by several people here and they've all done a great job when I go in for a cut & style. The girls and very friendly and they've got some great products too. Some people might argue it's pricey, but I've gone to cheaper places and more expensive places and this one is just fine. I would definitely recommend it.
I have been going to Dr. Sabharwal for a little over 5 years now and overall I have been happy with her services. I have gotten glasses and contact lenses in the past and I love some of the higher end frames and sunglasses she carries. I usually leave happy with a new Burberry or Gucci frame. I do admit it can get busy/crowded at times and have seen her get a little frustrated, but I've also seen some of the patients she's dealt with and as someone who has worked in the health care field with the same population, I must say I can understand it to some degree. Dr. Sabharwal has always been very friendly to me and has answered my various questions about my astigmatism and dryness with contacts and so forth. Her staff is always helpful whether I'm picking out glasses, sunglasses, or contacts. The best part is that she offers some Saturday appointments, which is very helpful since I'm usually busy during the week. Although the frame selection isn't as vast as the stores at the mall, I like the personalized care I receive here and am happy to know my doctor has many years of experience. I definitely plan to come back next year!
