Pretzel Boys Of Havertown
This is a chain pretzel bakery. The basic pretzels are very good and cheap. Nice way to feed a pile of kids at your house without going broke. They have some nice party trays with mini-hot dogs and stuff. You must call ahead for trays or if you want anything more than a dozen. Opt for the spicy deli mustard. it is the best. Parking is a little rough if the lot nearby is crowded.
Luigi Hair Cutting
This place is the heart of Havertown. It is a real barber shop where they all talk about stuff you want to talk about. Sports, politics, and everything else. Great haircuts, little to no waiting if you skip Saturday mornings or week days at 3pm. Prices are good, around $12.00.
Drabee's Mini Mart
Nice little market in a small American town. They may not have all that you want; but they have all that you need. The place is clean and pleasant, they have no real competition in the area but they work like they do.
Close's Lumber Co
One of the big lumber stores in the region. It is practically self-serve when you get someone to notice you, then you pay and they point you towards the wood. You load it yourself and secure it yourself. It is better for the professional carpenter not friendly for the do it yourself guy.
Connell Plumbing
Fran is a great local plumber. Good prices and great service, does not crush you for weekend or holiday emergencies. He is the kind of guy that you don't mind leaving in your house when you leave.
Broomall Animal Hospital
Tom Brady is the vet that we chose for our ASPCA award winning cadaverdog "Stache". From check-ups to injuries Tom and his staff have been professional, caring, and knowledgeable. I trust no one else with our Lab.
Manoa Beverages
What could be better than a "Brew-thru", this is a the only drive through beer distributor that I have ver seen. You are in and out in no time, they have every beer I like in stock and cold. Ice and soda as well. The service is great and Chris M. is a great guy to deal with. This is a great business.
Wooden Indian Tobacco Shop & Cigar Lounge
This is a nice local shop to stop in and pick up a few nice cigars. This is not a huge store but Dave knows his stuff and steers you the right way. Good prices and a nice selection. The added bonus is the frequent events that this shop hosts. At least monthly they have a rep from a cigar company, perhaps samples, a great sale, or my favorite; the cigar dinner on the Delaware. It was catered by the Clam Tavern and was tremendous. (relax; smoking was in a separte area from the dining). Dave also have a "club card" that score you extra savings. The only down side is the parking..and that is not always bad.
Scheier, Mitchell D, Dds - Family Dental Care
I hate dentists; but I love Mitch! This place is the best. They remind you, they take care of you, The care is great the staff is great, and I have NEVER sat in the waiting room. They are always ready and never overbook. The new facility is the most comfortable office I have ever been in. Even emergencies are no proble. If you are looking for a dentist you have to go see Mitch!
Connell's Pig & Whistle Deli
Hoagies are very good, the steaks are true to the Philadelphia tradition, seating is limited but the service is fast. They have lunch deals almost every day and also carry the staples that a neighborhood needs like TP, milk, sugar - all the stuff that your mom used to send you to the store for when you were a kid. Hoagie trays are the best.
