There is no finer place to get a great bagel in town. Their cream cheeses are superior to their rivals, and also, what they call an "everything" bagel is much closer to the mark than anywhere else around. Definitely the preferred bagel place.
A must-stop for out of town travelers that want to try local cuisine. In Buffalo, we have Teds, which is good, but Heid's beats them hands down. The best is a double-dog, and if you're in my family you get one dog as a white and one as a red. Great place for tradition and great food.
I have always really liked Colvin Cleaners - mostly for convenient service. I have had two incidents with them - one was when I took a dress in for an out of town wedding and mentioned a spot on the front of it. When I picked up the dress, it was still there. The good news was that there was time for them to re-do it, and the second time it was ok. I was grateful though that I'd planned ahead.
Recently, I dropped something off that had multiple parts including a pin on the front of it. I forgot to take the pin off. When we picked it up and brought it home, we could not find the pin. I went back and explained what happened, and asked them if they could look for it. As it turned out, we were able to find it and did have it and all was well. However, I felt that they were arrogant about the whole thing - it took an awful lot of time and energy for them to agree to just take my number in case it turned up there. Great that they are so confident about their service and all, but as a frantic wife trying to get her husband ready to go to a funeral, I didn't appreciate the attitude. Since the whole reason I was there was because we couldn't find this item, it would have saved us both a lot of time and aggrivation if they would have just pacified me.
Took a bunch of little girl scouts there for a special gifty craft. The girls had a blast! Jenny was patient and very comfortable explaining everything to the kids. Many items/large price range to choose from. Am planning on going back on my own sometime. Parking is city parking.
Split review between my husband and me. I really enjoy their tarts, but he feels they have nothing particularly interesting to offer. Parking is good, prices are pretty comparable, service is friendly. I'd give them four stars, he'd give them two so I'm splitting the difference.
Overall, we've been very happy with them and have been with them for six years since our first child was born. I wish every mother in the world could experience Nurse Barb when breastfeeding - she is absolutely wonderful. The kids love going there (except when shots are involved, of course). They have a pretty good system going, though in terms of being on schedule, they are about 50/50.
Fast, reliable - they come to you, so they are super-convenient. Best prices in town, hands down, and they have everything in stock. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
I was really looking forward to trying out midwifery care, but I did not find it with with Sharon. I don't know if it was a personality conflict or what - she actually said all the right things, but there was something about her that made me feel like she was against me from the beginning. I left the practice because of her.
They are very fast and professional. The work is up in a hurry but not "hurried" and sloppy. No mess left when they were done - left the place better than when they got there. The kind of place you hate to call but are great when you have to.
Have been a customer for many years. JR is great to work with - always has good advice and excellent follow-up. His staff sometimes seems frazzled and I'm not sure why, but it is usually better just to talk to him.
