While I didn't go to Baylor I know what a great place George's is to meet friends for breakfast, lunch or dinner. All the food is great and there aren't many places in Waco that I would recommend spending a lazy Saturday afternoon and this place is at the top of the list. Great margarita - the best I've found in Waco.
I went to Purgatory when I had a friend come into town and I was not impressed. The lines were long to get inside so I was expecting a great place and the concept is pretty cool but I don't really like going places that allow under 21.
Snookie's has great burgers and a good happy hour. They are in a good location - they are relatively easy to get to and are just off the tollway so it makes a good place to meet up for happy hour.
Lou's Hallmark is located close to home and is a great place to buy gifts. They have a great selection of cards and tons of special little gifts. I love all the Aggie items in the store. WHOOP!
Brittle Brittle had great peanut brittle but what I really love is the oatmeal-cranberry cookie dough. The business is in a building that looks like a plant or warehouse but the public can go in and buy as many treats as they want.
Sabor A La Mexicana is a fun place to go eat. Part of the building is a factory where they make the tortillas and chips so you know that you are getting the freshest tortillas and chips possible. The food is good and the service is very friendly.
The location of Mercury Grill just doesn't fit with the quality of the food. Looking at the shopping center where it is located you would think it was just some okay restaurant. Wrong, once you get inside it is great. The service is wonderful and the food is superb. It isn't an every night kind of place - great for a nice dinner.
Pete's is a great time. It is such an interactive environment that even though you may not know very many people there you feel like you are among friends. If you're looking for a good laugh - this is the place to go.
Penne Pomodoro is tucked into a busy shopping center right in the middle of some great restaurants and they can hold their own. The food is very good and the service is friendly. Great place for lunch or dinner.
I've been going to Duncanville Tire Center for more years than I can remember. The owner is great and gets the best deal for his customers. I've bought tires from him, gotten recommendations for other car services from him, and had countless flats fixed. His prices are really good and the service is professional and fast.
