We went to Emerald Publishing for wedding invitations. It was a small, quiet shop and a huge variety. Mike was very helpful and left us alone to pore over the many volumes of samples. There were tons of previous invitations on the walls so we could get more ideas. Picking out the right invitations was way more difficult than I thought but Mike was patient and said they could basically do whatever we needed. They offer many discounts and we spent less money than we expected so that was exciting. If you don??t want to spend lots of time in their store looking through all their samples, almost everything is listed on their website, as well.
We had the best experience here. Judy, the owner, was a riot and kept her store very clean and well-organized. I had trouble figuring out what dresses would look good on me but she and her wonderful assistant Jill pulled some beautiful dresses that I adored. She asked my budget and found many gorgeous dresses well below - the dress I bought was actually half my budget max so I was very happy about that. The dresses were of a great quality and lower prices than other places I have seen. It was just a fun, stress-free environment and I would recommend this shop to everyone (especially compared to the awful experience I had at Bridal and Gift in Attleboro - dooon??t go there!).
I read all these bad reviews and decided to go anyways - how bad could it be? Well, it was awful. We accidentally went to their second store where they do alterations and the seamstress ignored us and didn??t call to another worker to help us. Very rude and the place was dumpy with cheap looking dresses. I decided on the spot that I would NOT get anything altered their even if I bought at their store.
We finally got to the right store - it was very hot and cramped. Yes, it was cramped with dresses but we could barely move and most of the dresses were hideous. My mother actually had to sit amongst all the dresses to watch me try on mine and smushed in among all the plastic and tulle and taffeta and was very uncomfortable. Our salesperson was friendly and helped pull a number of dresses for me to try that fit my specifications but they were all pretty much awful. We also had a blonde salesperson, (I think the owner?) yelling over our stall the whole time trying to gossip who also commented on my body-type and made me feel self-conscious.
Overall, it was a stressful, hectic experience and we couldn??t wait to get out of there.
