We take our two cats to Dr. Truman. She is very patient with my one cat who turns psycho in vet offices. I appreciate that she is one of the few vets in the area who does vaccines on a three-year schedule, as recommended by the veterinary association, and not yearly.
Dr. Amanda Dunn is a great chiropractor for moms and children. My two-year-old is rather accident prone and he sees Dr. Amanda often. She has done a great job helping me keep his little spine healthy and in-line. She has also helped me with the neck and back pain that seems to accompany motherhood.
I love the wine and beer selection at Metcalf Discount Liquor. They have a great selection of regional beers produced by microbreweries and my favorite Boulevard products, too. Their prices are great.
This store has a nice selection of cloth diapers and other products that make 'green living' easier. The products they sell are of very high quality.
I appreciate that the owners go out of their way to offer their store as a resource for the community.
We hired this company to install 7 replacement windows last winter and were very pleased with the price, service, and quality of our new windows. The gentleman who installed our windows was professional and quick. He did an outstanding job. We were very pleased with our window-buying experience and recommend Window World to our friends.
My boys and I enjoy touring the Kansas City Community Garden's Beanstalk Children's Garden. The tour offers a five-senses experience. Children can hear maracas made from gourds, feel the cotton plants, taste a variety of herbs and fruits, smell flowers grown for their fragrance, and see many of the crops kids usually find in the grocery store.A great place for educating children about where their food comes from.
My husband and I are big fans of small, independant films and Glenwood Arts Theatre is a great place to watch them in Kansas City. I like the 'old time' feel of the place. It is usually much less crowded than the megaplixes around town. It is a great atmosphere for movie watching.
My boys love Wonderscope. We often go there and spend the entire time in only two rooms. I love that it is a faily small place and, therefore, easy to keep track of kids. The atmosphere is pretty laid-back and it is expected that kids will run and scream and have as much fun as possible. A great place to burn some young energy.
I do not recommend Wonderscope for children over age 5. It really is a good place for little ones, but older childen could get bored.
This is a great thrift store if you are looking for furniture. Unlike many thrift stores, they give their furniture section a large amount of space. For a fee, they will also deliver any items you can't fit in your vehicle.
I have bought and sold books at this Half Priced Books store and I have always had a very pleasant experience. When I choose to sell to them, instead of listing my items for sale individually online, I am choosing to save time. It is wonderful to go there with a bag of books taking up shelf space and leave with a few bucks.
I really love this store's collection of kids books. As my children get grow, they always have good books that meet their interests.
