I'm always very pleased with Kim A Tailor. They are very friendly and do an excellent job. Same day service is available, although I've never used it. I will continue to go to Kim's as long as I am in the Richardson area.
I went to Morning Donuts because I had a coupon out of the Entertainment Book. The prices were certainly better than any donut chains and I thought the donuts were very good. The staff was very nice as well. I'll go back, but not before I've used the other coupons.
Mel's is great. They used to serve shaved is along with ice cream, but now they just serve ice cream... BUT - the ice cream is very good. I had coffee with heath bar mixed in and I was not disappointed. It was about $3.89 for the super cup plus $.50 per mix-in. (The special was free mix-in with the super cup - bonus!). They are open until 10 every night.
I recommend Kenny's if you are in the area. I do not recommend going out of your way to eat here. I had the mushroom burger with brie. It was really good. My husband had the BBQ Ranch Burger that was the special and was not too impressed. I thought the prices were kind of high. The onion rings were huge, but we only got 5 for $4.99. The people near us had the ribs and they looked pretty tasty. A table next to us returned the queso because the chips were stales.
The Villages at Clear Springs was the last apartment complex we lived in before moving to a house. It was our favorite of all the apartments we inhabited. The office staff was really nice, but changed a lot. Billy was great!!! I'm just not sure how long she will be able to stay around. We went to the little resident events each month and really enjoyed meeting the other people who lived in the area. the complex was small, which we liked. Rent was reasonable for the area. The only downside was parking. There were plenty of spots, but they were so tiny. I have a Maxima and frequently parked next to a similar sized car and had my car dinged several times. If you are looking for apartments in the area, I highly recommend the Villages.
I lived at Camden-Buckingham for 2 years and was pleased while I was there. The parking was not great. Sometimes I got a spot really close to my place and sometimes I had to park quite a ways away. The property is "gated," but the gate rarely works. Anyway, none of that really bothered me because I liked the lay out and the location was convenient. The front pool was nice, but I rarely went to it because my unit was near the smaller pool and there were usually less people. You can pay your rent on line, which I really appreciated. The reason I would NOT recommend living here is the hassle we went through trying to move out. I felt like they were very deceptive and tried to charge us for many things that we confirmed prior to move out we would not be charged for (or we would have fixed them). It was terrible trying to sort it all out.
Benny's is very reasonably priced, but the bagels are just okay. The cream cheese was pretty good. There was no wait and they had several flavors of both cream cheese and bagels to choose from.
This is a great all around Mexican food restaurant. They have excellent chips and spicy salsa. For those of you who enjoy a little bit of everything, the Super Mexican Dinner is the ticket. It might be the most perfect Mexican meal ever created. Ok, don't get your expectations too high, but it's good. They are generally a good deal, but it seems they have gone up in price slightly over the years, but that's the problem with any place if you have gone religiously for 15 years. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in Fort Worth. They are very busy around the typical times, but generally the wait isn't too long even then.
Great burgers, chicken fried steak, and everything in between. When going to West Texas, we always stopped there. The staff is very nice and attend to your every need. The portions are o'plenty and the price is about average, but where else can you eat in an old mercantile building built in the 1890's next to a giant smokestack?
They definitely have a unique take on their chips. If you remember one thing about the place, it's the chips. Basically, they are larger, heavier chips that are good, but you definitely need to monitor how many you eat. Their food is good, but nothing exceptional. It's a great little place to have a few beers and eat some quality Mexican food.
