Love, love, love the First Wok! It's the best Chinese food in York. Dining in is awesome and take out is great, too. They've never needed more than 15 minutes to prepare a take out meal for me. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
My child spent a little over a year working with a therapist named Doris at this office. At first, I was a little uncomfortable because she put my 2 & 1/2 year old into a booster seat for a long time for therapy. However, she alternated a few minutes of work with a few minutes of play and my child didn't seem to mind. We were able to stop therapy at just over a year and have never needed to go back. The results speak for themselves. I would recommend this office.
I've had good experiences with this vet's office. It's clean and the staff is professional. I've used the kennel on occasion and everything has gone well. I especially appreciate that they have pointed out to me vaccinations and other that were not really necessary for my pets because of being indoor pets and because they were aging. Their office hours and kennel pick up times are very accommodating.
I like this manicurist. They're prices are very reasonable, much more so than any other I've found in the area. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes even when I've walked in without an appointment. I've had manicures and pedicures and have been happy with both. The owners are friendly and professional.
I don't care much for Royer's Flowers. I don't think they have the quality of other florists in town. They use a lot of cheap fillers like baby's breath in their arrangements. They do have better prices than some of the other florists and they're easy and convenient. I use them in a pinch, but if you're looking for quality I think there are better choices out there.
I have not had good experiences at Kid to Kid, either as a shopper or a consignor. I rarely got more than a couple of dollars for consigning and it was never worth the time and effort to schedule an appointment and cart it over to the store. You can no longer drop off your items and pick them up later. You have to either make an appointment or donate what they don't want. As a shopper, I had difficulty finding enough that I wanted to buy to use up the $7 I had in credit from consigning. Much of the merchandise looked too used for my taste. The staff is not as welcoming as they could be.
Butera is the best florist in York. Everything is lovely and does not have the cheap appearance of flowers from many other shops around town. They don't overdo it on baby's breath and other cheap fillers. Everything I've ever purchased from Butera's has been beautiful. It is more expensive than some other florists but definitely the place to go if you want quality.
Collage is an upscale gift shop and has beautiful things to offer. I like the unique items that can't be found many other places in York. Their children's clothing are adorable. Be prepared for expensive shopping, however.
Dr. Tuttle is gentle and caring. His office is usually quiet and friendly. The staff is courteous and professional. They have a fair selection of frames and can order contact lens for you but there are places to get both for less. I do wish they'd send annual reminders when it's exam time. I lose track and often have to call to ask if I'm due for a check up.
We saw Dr. Roser when our son needed an evaluation for Vision Therapy. At first, I really liked her. She seemed friendly, down to earth, and didn't seem to make snap judgements. However, as we continued through therapy, I lost my good opinion of her. I asked her not to assign us a particular therapist and she did not follow through. I found her attitude condescending at times, both with my child and with me. It particularly bothered me when I mentioned that my child would be participating in an activity, and she told me that he wouldn't be able to handle the commotion involved. He's never had a problem dealing with this and I believe she based her off-handed comment more on her experience with other children than on my child. After all, she'd only seen him for a total of perhaps 5 hours over the course of nine months. If we need to return to this practice for our other child, I intend to try the other doctor.
