Love their food they have specials on tuesdays and wednesday night. Small friendly little place get there early as there are not alot of places to sit.
The atmosphere is great - very homey and casual with lively music videos displayed on the corners of the rooms. The staff is also extremely friendly. Street parking with automated meter - $0.50 for half hour.
Delicious, low key, no nonsense and staffed with good people this really is the perfect place to bring an out of town guest to share a true Baltimore experience! The fact that its in the parking lot of a giant gentleman's club and is frequented by locals as well as Anthony Bourdain and Guy Fieri only makes it better! =) I wish we had these in NY.
Their muffins are delicious. My favorites were the blackberry pastries (tastes like cobbler), and the mango poppyseed. They also have a good selection for breakfast and lunch.
Staff is chatty and seems to like their jobs. Great specials during the week and during football season. The crowd varies from locals, and college kids to the 30's crowd. Always something to look t.
Prices are much more reasonable than frou-frou places. With a long shiny chrome bar and old-fashioned spinning stools,The North Pole is a little wholesome island hidden among the head shops and sex toy places on Eastern Ave. And the ice cream is wonderful.
The owners are the most lovely folks ever. The staff is wonderful. They love their job and it's obvious. The inventory is awesome. You can't ask for a better choice for gifts. They have an awesome coffee bar, live entertainment, and any manner of holistic healing/well-being services like acupuncture,They also have free wi-fi.
The burgers don't come with fries but with cole slaw (I still don't get why people eat cole slaw) -- actually, I don't believe you can actually get fries here. Which is actually great, because chips + salsa + burger + fries generally = can't move. As far as I can remember, they have a pool table and outdoor seating.
The best feature of the River Watch Restaurant & Marina is the view, a sweeping vista of the Middle River, in Essex. Hopefully you are there for the boat watching, because what came out of the kitchen was a huge disappointment.
Damn good BBQ. They have multiple kinds of homemade regional sauces to choose from, It's primarily a takeout place, take it home or sit on the picnic tables outside. If you get a sandwich to take home, make sure you ask for "travel", then they will separate the bun from the meat. Otherwise you will be eating that pork sandwich with fork. SO JUICY!
