I have been raving about this group of midwives ever since my first was born! I had established a relationship with one of the women, and then ended up with Mary Popke I believe, and was very happy she helped me deliver my daughter. All I remember from the delivery was her warm, gentle hand holding mine periodically, reassuringly, and her professional approach when she deemed it necessary to move beyond my written list of wishes for the birth. At that point (after pushing 3 hours!) I was more than willing to cooperate with anything she advised!
This place has an interesting, old towne feel when you walk in. But he gets the work done when he says he will and once you realize you can get take and bake right next door, as well as a few used clothing items next door to that, then you have several trips all in one parking job done!
Coffee rush is conveniently located and they have friendly people working there. I used to get fresh bagels from them (with my coffee!) when my kids were young and needed food 'yesterday' and we were too far from home!
I love sunrise bagels! They have great lunches too, for those times you want to both shop for groceries and get a quick lunch. Very family friendly environment and a huge selection of bagels, especially in the first part of the day.
My daughter gets frequent stomach aches and I can't tell if it's due to stress or her diet half the time. So I made an appointment with a Chiropractor many of my friends were recommending, Dr. Aungst. He was professional, well-spoken, and took the time to explain in laymen's terms how his techniques work. I'd recommend him for alternative medicine.
My kids and I go to the Willamette Dental in Hillsboro and Jonny is our dentist. We had to switch recently to this new dentist and I was so not looking forward to leaving the chidren's dentist we'd had since they were 3, but our insurance dictates where we go, and we've been very happy with their service. The receptionists are friendly and professional, and Jonny is funny, smart and I always learn something from him. The only issue I have is that they get fully booked so quickly! I had to wait a month and half for our appointment.
I worked for Montessori-Child's View years and years ago! It's wonderful they're still in business. The director was relaxed and gave the teachers a lot of room to create. It was in a church basement, which is very common for small schools like these.
This was a place I often went when I was single because it had a such relaxed, good feel. They're treats were yummy and their coffee was good. It's great they're still in business!
We loved Organics to You back in the day when we could afford it! They were very prompt and friendly and the food was always fresh. Sometimes we didn't know what they'd brought us, when we ordered the veggie assortment dealie, but that was all the more educational for the kiddos. The milk and eggs at our doorstep was ever so timely, too, sometimes!
This has definitely been the one pumpkin patch we've gone to the most. The thing I like the most about it is the open feel, and even a body of water to cross. The scarey creatures lurking under that water frightened my younger kids for 2-3 years, and now I'd like to take them back there so they can remember how crazy little they were! I like the variety of transportations you get with one ticket. But one fall we went kinda late and the pumpkins were really picked through.
