The burgers are great and the shakes are pretty good, but like the other review said, it is not worth the price. Lunch for 2 can be $20+ The fries here take the cake, they are crisp and flavorful. The variety of burgers is really what sets this place apart, all their toppings are super fresh. I will go back, but it is too expensive to be a regular lunch joint.
Go here for lunch a lot during the week. The food is great and the service is better. Pizza is a little on the well done side (personal favorite) and the subs are excellent, everything from the meatball to the chicken parm, even the cold cuts are great! A personal favorite sub (of me and the owner): grilled chicken with lettuce, tomato, and provolone (he takes his with pickles, I don't). The pasta is great too and the portions are huge.
The slices are the best deal here! I worked close by and I would stop in for slices at lunch, the slices are huge and pretty cheap. There isn't a ton of seating though, so it is definitely a takeout place, but it is worth checking out!
This is a great little breakfast place. The group that owns and operates the place is really friendly and nice and the food is amazing. The attached store sells a lot of really cool little herbal remedies and gifts.
This pizza is awesome! I was exposed to this place by a friend who loves it. I have only ever had the cheese and pepperoni pizza, but they were both awesome. The crust is light and flaky, and the sauce is rich and flavorful. There isn't a ton of cheese on the pizza (I like a lot of cheese) but it is a good balance. Wish I lived closer or I would get it all the time.
The wraps here are great, I got a teriyaki with some lo mein in it, delicious, but they are super expensive. I make a trip over here every so often with friends, but it is often a very pricey lunch. I think it is worth checking out, but not necessarily worth the price.
Sandwiches are amazing and the drive thru makes is to die for. They are open super late, which makes Simard's the last stop on a trip home. The fries and sides are also really good, with the onion rings on the top of that pile. My mouth is watering just thinking about this place.
Got a quesadilla for takeout here, and it was just a mess of grease and decent tasting meat. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted good, but it was a mess when you put it in a box, it all fell apart. I think if a restaurant offers takeout, it should be able to replicate the presentation in a box as well as on a plate.
On any given Friday-Sunday morning, you can find a lot of Umass kids in here, attempting to soak up the alcohol from the night before and this might actually be the best way to do it. The food is delicious and the staff is super-friendly. The seating is limited, so there is a wait sometimes. And they only do breakfast and lunch, so they close early, but this is definitely worth getting up for.
Green Bean is a nice little coffee and sandwich oasis in downtown New Bedford. They have a lot of coffee flavors and the coffee is strong. The sandwiches are good, and they have a lot of options of vegetarians/vegans. Lunch time can get busy, because of Umass's art building close by, but the rest of the afternoon is great. The staff is pretty friendly too.
