Classroom Extras
This place doesn't have all the things the chains do, but the selection is decent enough. The people who work there are very nice.
Miyabi-Tei
Good food with enormous portions. Don't expect great service, but hey, if I were 80 years old working for minimum wage, I wouldn't be so sweet either.
Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach
Modern decor. Not bad. But they lost our reservation despite showing them the confirmation print out. They did find a room for us, but we asked them to move us when ants were crawling all over our stuff. When the staff came up my friend said that there were bugs all over. They had the nerve to correct us saying, "We call those ants here".
People's Cafe
Okay food. This was our first stop, so I had high hopes and expectations.... it missed the mark. It wasn't bad, but it's definitely not up to the hype in tour books.
Shinsengumi
Good food, and fun. If you're looking for romance and quiet to have deep conversations, this isn't the place for you.
Kappo Seafood
Good food, but hard to justify the prices. The presentation of the food and the decor are enjoyable.
Tachikichi Gifts
High end Japanese dishes. They have other antiques too. I have to warn you though, the owner is really good at making suggestions. He assesses what you like and makes accurate suggestions. He'll make you want/need to come back!
Java City
Service, food, coffee - all mediocre. Not bad, but nothing outstanding. The best thing is the location.
Pacifica Thai Cuisine
We were driving in the fog and just happened upon this restaurant. I love Thai food, but my husband does not. He had quail and loved the food here. It's unassuming from the outside and you wonder as you walk through the door. But delicious!
Sanseido Bookstore
This place replaced another book store in Mitsuwa. It's pretty good. At first I didn't like the set up, but it's roomy and airy. The stationary is limited and pricey. Big kid's section.
