I went here for a special movie screening that was also fundraising for an organization to send care packages to troops overseas. This is a large, beautiful, classic movie theater. The sound and screen was good if you don't mind some slightly uncomfortable chairs. I'm glad that there are still independent movie houses and I'll definitely be back to this place.
This is a fun place to drink a beer and pay some quarter pool. Sonny Mc Lean is a no frills pub. The food is okay and so is the beer. Not so sure about the wine options. I ordered an in between priced glass and it was pretty bad. They also have people that run different activities nights which looked like fun.
I've been here several times for coffee and sandwiches. This is a pretty nice place. The sandwiches and pastry are always made fresh with good ingredients. They also have a lot of European cooking items there for sale like European teas and herbs de provence. It's a large bakery with good prices and plenty of tables hang out and relax.
I just took my boyfriend and friend out here to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. This place hit the spot. They had an awesome variety of frozen yogurt options like French vanilla, Irish mint, cappuccino, peanut butter, raspberry pomegranate, ect. The also had a large selection of regular ice cream topping plus every kind of fresh fruit you would want. The prices weren't too bad either. The place was clean and we got to hangout and play some connect four while we savored our treats.
This is a great diner and one of the first places I take house guests. The place is like walking into a time warp. There is 50s memoribilia all over the walls, the wait staff and cooks are in diner attire and they've even got the great vinyl covered booths. The food is great for good prices. They also connect four and various board games to play while you wait and magicians touring the tables on the weekend. It's just all around good time.
This place is amazing. The hotel is located right next to the marina area in Oceanside at the end of its peninsula and most rooms overlook ocean. Every room is slightly different than the next which is part of this place's charm. Each room is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Plus they do a continental breakfast in there cabana area next to the pool, hot tub and ocean. The staff is very friendly and the owner is really nice. This hotel is prefect for a small wedding. They even have a small grass area next to the ocean for a ceremony.
If you're doing the wine tour thing in Solvang then you need to set some time aside and go to this restaurant. This place is almost always busy but the staff is nice and if you planned ahead with reservations then you'll be fine. The poultry meals really are excellent. My friend had the quail and after a year still craves seconds. Dinner is expensive here but totally worth it.
I have been here for several functions and it is a gorgeous hotel. This place has some real history in Los Angeles without looking too much like it's age. The staff is great and amenities are good. The convention rooms are massive and the food is pretty good.
So if you're looking for a great wine tour through Sideways country then this is the company to hire. The guy that runs the tour company use to own a wine bar in Solvang, so he knows all the great wineries. We even got to go to one of the wineries featured in the movie, Standford. Our box lunch was delicious and we had a blast with this guy. He even gave us pointers on good wine bars and restaurants to check out while we were in Solvang.
This is a pretty good place to ask questions and get hands on experience with merchandise but prices are not great and the sales people are not really cordial to their customers. If you need gear in a pinch and can put up with snotty sales people and don't mind paying extra then go for it.
