We stopped in to check out the old 5 mile house under its new ownership and were delighted. Their menu of roadhouse food from around the world was exciting because there were choices from all over the world, while the standard American roadhouse classics were there as well. I had the Argentine skirt steak with Chimichurri sauce - outstanding - the Belgian Bistro fries reminded me of my time in Europe. My wife had the Fennel Roast pork which was melt in your mouth awesome. My friend had the Smoked baby back ribs - he's from the south - and he loved the spicy smokey flavor and the fact that they were not boiled in water the way most places do them. His wife (a vegetarian) had lots to choose from, but settled on the Spanikopita, which she enjoyed too. All in all, a great time - and the prices are very fair. Next time we will try their mussels which they serve up on tuesdays with live jazz. The old five mile house is our new fave place because we can have fun cocktails and each get a meal we like. Now that they are open for lunch, we may just go hiking or ride our bikes on the Pioneer trail across the road and grab a panini and a beer afterwards.
