When our out-of-town family comes to visit this is a favorite breakfast stop. The location is central to shopping downtown and the food is great 'diner style' with something for each of us. I would recommend it - it can get busy and fill up fast. The service is very friendly and they have coloring pages for kids too!
I have been seeing Dr. Shealy for 10 years now and am happy with the work that he has done for our family. His office has expanded over the years and grown - it is up to date high tech and digital which makes the visit fly by. I would recommend his practice.
I have only had breakfast here and been very happy each time. The service is very friendly and welcoming - Dawn is so nice! The coffee is great and they fill all your 'special requests' making things just the way you like.
I am not a big fan of the buffet - but really enjoyed the holiday function that I attended here. The service was very friendly and the selection was great. They had everything from king crab legs to french fries with everything imaginable in between. It was very clean and the staff was very attentive, removing plates and keeping the area clean. The food stations were very clean and the food was monitiored constantly bringing out piping hot fresh plates regularly! We will be coming back for a family dinner night - the kids loved the indoor koi pond too.
we had my sister-in-laws wedding shower here - it was wonderful. We had a beautiful buffet and tea service - it was warm and inviting and the staff was very attentive. We had the event in the newer addition which was great - everyone enjoyed themselves. I would definately consider the 1640 Hart House for another event.
This is a must stop for quick dinners with that better than home made taste. I have been there for dinner and lunch too - always great service and food. I love their take-out - the fridges are packed with meals ready to go. Enjoy,
My son experienced Boat Camp for the first time this summer - a whole week of time on the water on the Merrimac River. He had a blast - and I loved that he was learning the entire time (but don't tell him!) From collecting water samples and using microscopes to walking through and exploring tide pools at Sandy Point - he had something new to share with us every night. He took a waterproof disposable camera and got great shots of harbor seals, marine life and new friends he made.
Our 3 year old wanted to go too - we then found out that Boat Camp offered a pre-school age classroom program that meets once a week. It includes a lesson, time at the saltwater touch tank a craft and a snack - great hands-on fun, great price, and very nice owners.
My son is looking forward to Boat Camp again next summer and our youngest is still taking morning classes there - 5 stars!
5 Stars! We visited the Port Tavern with family that were in from out of town - we had an amazing lunch in the cozy setting - the setting was warm and inviting and the staff friendly and very accommodating! The owner even stopped by to see how our meal was! 2 weeks later our school had a fundraiser at the same location - a great time was had by all. Don't think 'tarvern equals pub food' - the food selection and variety was wonderful - we finished our meal with warm cookies and dipping sauce - yum!
If you enjoy Thai cuisine this is a great hidden gem. Their seafood dishes are wonderful and the staff is very friendly. We like going here when we get a sitter - it is a small, quiet restaurant with an amazing menu. It is easy to get to just off of Rt. 1 and Rt.133 - plenty of parking too.
Lunch was great - Italian wedding soup and a half sandwich - it was great on fresh made bread. The bakery is located downstairs and the smell alone was worth it. Nice lunch, friendly staff.
