Excellent cheap Mexican food. We stopped in on a lark and were very excited by the authenticity, the large menu, and the excellent taste and quality of everything. Very inexpensive, friendly staff.
Shiraz is easily one of my favorite West side restaurants. The food is excellent, always fresh, and they have some very authentic Persian dishes in addition to the usual gyros, etc. The Iskander Kabob is to die for. It can be very busy at lunch time, so plan to wait for a seat if you come at noon.
One of the best Tiki bars on the West Coast! If you are at all interested in tiki fashion or drinks, this is the place to go if you are north of San Diego. Beautiful decor, and a truly amazing menu of tiki drinks that are true to the genre, not too sweet, and many based on either classic or original recipes. It's a little hard to find, and can be quite crowded, but it's well worth the trip.
I was a little concerned when McMennamins took over the old Rock Creek tavern, but they have kept the atmosphere very true to the original. It's a nice quite spot for a weekend lunch, with good pub food.
I love Lebanese food, and Oasis did not disappoint! The kibbeh was very good, the bread nice and fresh, and the fatoush was also excellent. Definitely someplace I'll be going back to. The service was very friendly as well.
Fun family style steak house with lots of selections to appeal to the whole family. The steaks are pretty good, and the fries and onion rings are better than average. Good beer selection too, and conveniently located near the fair grounds and downtown Monroe
Good selection for such a tiny store. If you are looking for a quick something and don't have time to drive to Uwajimaya, you can find a lot of good groceries here. It's a bit crowded. The staff is very friendly
I've been in here a few times, and they have a pretty decent selection of SE Asian food products, but it's not very clean and I probably wouldn't go back.
Good selection of Indian foods, and some stuff that can be hard to find in other places. Their prices are pretty comparable to the other local stores. I've had pretty unfriendly service a few times, but not enough to keep me out of the store. Probably not the place to go if you don't know what you want.
The best Ethiopian food I've had in Portland. The service can be a bit off, but the food is well worth it. They have a really great selection of vegetarian dishes if you swing that way, as well as the standard meat selections. They also have tej (honey wine) which is hard to find.
