I stopped into Leo's to drop off my watch, which stopped working after I dropped it. As it turned out, when the man behind the counter looked at my watch, he determined the battery just needed to be changed. I was expecting some kind of mechanical issue, not just a battery! I was delighted that the fix was so simple - and quick as well.
When I wanted to add my grandma's diamond to my mom's pearl necklace, I was at a loss on what to do. Our regular jeweler was out of the country and I wanted to get this done for Mother's Day. I was referred to the Jewel Palace who helped design a clip that attached directly to the pearl necklace that worked out beautifully. They were able to set the diamond and use the gold setting as a basis for the clip. It turned out gorgeous and my mom was thrilled.
The Jewelry Doctors is where I took my mother when she wanted to get my grandmother's cameo repaired. I had my doubts if anyone could repair the delicate filigree that surrounded the cameo and was pleasantly surprised with the workmanship they provided. My mom was overjoyed and I was completely impressed. I will now include them in the list of trusted vendors to use when the occasion occurs.
When I accidently knocked into the grandfather clock in our living room and knocked it over, I was beside myself. That clock belonged to my grandparents and held a lot of fond memories for me as a child. I found World Tine Wath and Clock Repair through our jeweler who had nothing but good things to say about them. They were able to repair the clock and made it look like new again. The gong never sounded so good!
I had an antique pair of earrings I wanted to get repaired and cleaned. A friend of mine suggested Afghan Lapis Jewelry as the place to go. I was concerned because the earrings were family heirlooms, but it turned out my fears were unfounded. Afghan jewelers was very attentive and exceedingly careful with my treasures and did a thorough and complete job on the restoratiion of them.
ID Jumpers Party Rental was one of the placed I contacted for our block party. They didn't have the jumpers I wanted but offered a great discount on the ones they did have available. I was tempted, but decided to pass.
Instant Imprints did the signs and t-shirts for our family reunion barbeque over Memorial Day. We had a family gathering on both sides of the family that numbered almost 90 and thought it would be fun to have signs proclaiming the event as well as souvenir t-shirts. Instant Imprints was able to handle our order and produced great looking signs and tees.
My father in law loves two things more than anything in life - his stamp/coin collection and cowboys. Imagine my delight in discovering the Friends of Hart Parks & Museum, which was debuting the Cowboys of the Silent Screen stamp collection. I contacted several people I knew and managed an invitation to the debut of the Museum for my husband, myself and my father in law. The people who ran the event were so gracious and kind and spent a lot of time going over the history of the collection with everyone in attendance. It was a very interesting way to spend a morning.
After having a bad experience last fall with a rental company, I've been a little leery of using anyone for my rental needs. I received a recommendation from my neighbor who used Town & Country Event Rentals and loved them. I called them and spoke to a wonderful woman named Priscilla who made me feel better about renting from them. When it came time for our event, they delivered everything as promised and picked everything up when scheduled. Town & Country Event Rentals have made me feel much better about renting again.
Baskets N' Bows created a specialty basket for one of my clients that I was beyond pleased with. I needed something very special for this client, which Baskets N' Bows was able to accomodate. I gave them a list of the name brand items I wanted included, plus a list of personal interests the client had. Translation - an amazing, one of a kind basket this very special client is still talking about.
