Do you like pizza? If so, go to Carreno's Pizza, they have great pizza and their staff is fantastic!!
Leoona's Pizza Restaurant is a great place to go get a slice of pizza during your lunch break! It is fast and good!
I called in our order and it was ready in a half hour for pick up. I had sausage & mushroom zzah and the pizza was LOADED with fresh mushrooms! I am in love. Great prices and friendly service. If you buy 2 pizzas, the second one is half off. That is a steal when you are entertaining. I will be a regular at Bravo!
Try Bella's thin crust with chicken and jalapenos. Yum. Also, pan pizza (not deep dish) with spinach and mushrooms, sprinkled with red pepper flakes. Sausage and green peppers, too. Very good cheese, great sauce, and excellent crust, especially the thin. It's not cheap pizza, and you pay for the quality. It's the best pizza in Ukrainian Village/Wicker Park/Bucktown. Bella's also has the telephone food order system down. They are seriously efficient. The calzones are good, too.
I decided to drop in this place on a whim for lunch on a Monday. They had a sign up front offering a free bowl of soup w/ any sandwich(most around $5), but that includes burgers also.
I have to say, this place is 50 yrs old, (1961, but not in a bad way. So, please don't walk in expecting something shiny and new. Its clean, very clean, and has very friendly and above average service. Bathrooms are super clean also, but could use a remodel like the rest of the place. But, I expect that's why they haven't had to raise prices.
Its a typical diner menu, but expect good size portions.
I would definitely recommend this as a very good down to earth diner. Good portion sizes and friendly service.
I love good old fashioned mom and pop diners like this one! Let's do what we can to keep them alive otherwise another annoying "man" chain will pop up, or worse yet, the 10,000 condo complex will rear it's ugly head.
Big Top is open 24 hours which is very cool when you need a nice, warm place to hang out and enjoy some good comfort food. One of my faves would be the turkey dinner. Great white meat turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and a vegetable (also comes with soup or salad) for about $9. The breakfast deals and large selection of sandwiches are great. Super nice staff.
The atmosphere of Bricks is definitely cozy and filled with all ages of patrons - family friendly, for sure. There's a limited amount of tables, though, so I would probably call in for a reservation. Our party of 4 got lucky as I didn't expect the place to be packed at 6pm on a Sunday! Service was pretty good, too, and I'm glad the waitress didn't yell at us when we (semi-bluntly) asked to switch booths.
This is one of my favorite pizza places. We ordered a pie ahead. It was ready in 25 minutes and delicious as always! The medium is perfect for us. Thincrust with just enough cheese, plenty of sausage on my half and pepperoni on hers. And not too salty (as I find many pizza's to be). If you haven't yet, give 'em a try.
This place is really nothing to write home about, but they take credit cards and they're open late. Pretty cheap too.
The pizza is decent if you order a whole pie, but the slices alone are inferior. The burger isn't bad and the fries are nice and crispy. They always seem to change the style of fries they serve, which is weird. They should just stick to the crinkle-cut.
Any place that is open late & accepts credit cards is ultimately A-OK in my book... Their pizza is pretty damn good and a good value in today's economy, however I am especially fond of their oven-roasted Italian beef sandwich... Adding red sauce and mozzarella to this sandwich will only result in a much-satisfied stomach...
