Phoenix Palace
Yummy! This is a big place that is packed with tables and some even with lazy susans! Try the char siu bao which is steamed buns filled with sweet barbecued pork. The dumplings are amazing as well. They have fresh steamed broccoli. Oh, and the spicy salt shrimp is delicious! They get really crowded by noon time. A dinner for two can go for about $35 or less. There is a takeout area too if you can't stay. Most of the servers speak English which is a plus. They are friendly too.
Wild Horse West
A terrific burger for a terrific price - $5. This friendly down-home tavern in the middle of nowhere. I highly recommend though ordering a burger from here. It's 1/2 lb of meat with lettuce, hot peppers and onions. The bun is your typical supermarket bun, but for the price, you can't go wrong. The staff is always friendly too.
Lodge
This is a midwestern dive bar in Old Town Scottsdale. I tried their Sasquatch Burger for a whopping $16 - I shared it but it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. And, to top it off, its around 2,000 calories. So if your drunken boyfriend wants to fuel up on food, then take him here because he won't care what he eats! There are much better places in Old Town Scottsdale to eat. Food aside, it's fun to hang out here with a bunch of friends and pound a few drinks.
SteakenBurger / Long Wongs Wings
For under $4.00 you get a pretty good burger here. I recommend the HellzaPoppinBurger which is 1/2 pound (two patties) with lettue, onion, tomato, pepper jack cheese, jalepenos to boot. Gotta put your mouth on fire for this one for sure!
Sign Of The Whale
LOVE the Mushroom Swiss Burger at this place. You almost need two hands for it. It is huge. It is served on an onion dill bun. It runs about $10, sides included. A must try!
Urban Cookies
Right on 7th Street is a great cookie and cupcake shop. You can get wonderful deals here on their delicious cookies. They are open on Saturdays which is great; closed on Sundays. Good prices. Good delicious cookies and cupcakes and friendly staff.
Taggia
Taggia is located at FireSky Resort & Spa in Scottsdale. They offer great "Homerun Happy Hour" on Thursdays in March where you can get a bucket of beer (four bottles) and pizza for only $15. Great place to hang out and have some good food and a nice place!
Cruise America
Love the Cruise America here in Mesa. It is conveniently located off the freeway. They always have great offers. I rent at least twice a year from them whenever NASCAR is in town. I just booked again with them. Their customer service is superb. I have never had any problems no matter the size of the RV I have rented. Their office staff is efficient and I can get in and out with my vehicle in my lunch hour. The RVs are always clean and reliable.
Tuck Shop
Gotta stop by this cute little place, especially if you are a gin lover like I am (when not drinking wine). It is a tiny restaurant and bar at the corner of 12th Street and Okay in Phoenix. They have "comfort food" from the South. The bar offers retro drinks and not a big selection. Cocktails are between $7 and $9. The bar even makes its own lemonade and ginger ale. The gin and tonic is served with cucumber and is refreshing. They even sell their tonic syrup.
Black Bear Diner
This diner has great food at very reasonable prices. It is a friendly atmosphere. I love to eat breakfast here. They give you generous portions and great prices. It is family friendly as well.
