Unique cozy stationery store with cards, thank you notes, gifts and more. They have an extensive selection of invitations and stationery and will walk you through all the steps if you want to create your own customized invitations. They also have endless samples to give you ideas. Kymberli, the owner, and Leeora both are extremely helpful and patient. They even have supplies if you want to make your own invitations and cards. Pricey, but top quality products.
Michele's cakes and desserts are the best in town! She makes custom cakes for any occasion or drop by if you have a sweet tooth and just want a cookie, cupcake or slice of cake. She designed and made our wedding cake which was delicious and almost to beautiful to eat. I've also had lunch there a few times and her sandwiches, soups and salads are all fantastic. She uses all organic fresh ingredients and you can taste the difference.
Kathy is a fabulous artist and woman. It was an honor to have her as our floral designer. She has endless creative ideas and energy and is willing to work with you on your ideas and within your budget. She's been in the business for a while and it definitely shows. A true class act.
They have fair prices and do a great job. Started going there a few years ago when I got a VW (had Japanese cars before that) for general maintenance and I've always been happy with their work. Mike is the most honest auto repair manager I have ever met. I called about 2 weeks ago to bring my car in for a quick routine service and they said they were booked up for another week... guess the word is speading on their great service.
What can I say? they have tasty strong drinks & usually have a beer on special. Their enchiladas are great and my husband swears by the machaca torta. Cool locally owned and run business with great dcor. They don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait if you're there for dinner on a weekend night. You can always find a seat or stand by the bar. If you find yourself there, be sure to ask for Rod, the bartender. He's the best in town.
Rum Jungle is across the street from work and they have a good lunch. It's a combination of Americanized Brazilian, Persian, Meditaranean food. My favorite is the veggie curry which comes with brown rice and a side salad. I've also tried some of their sandwiches and salads, all of which are tasty, but the curry is still the best. Acai bowls are delicous topped with granola and freshly sliced berries. Mom's in charge and always has new fun dishes she features. They usually have fun energizing music playing inside. Fair prices and fresh quality produce.
Love the idea of supporting local businesses and sustainable foods. Have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, so went last weekend for a Valentine's Day special menu. We all ordered seafood because of the name of the restaurant and it was decent, but not amazing. I had the poached yellowtail for my entre, which tasted fresh, but felt it needed a kick - kind of bland. We all tried the sea urchin bisque, which was so delicious. It was served inside the urchin shell which was a cool presentation. Also, their desserts were a delight to eat. The service was decent, but not great. We expected a little better service given the price of your meal. All things considered, very with the times restaurant and love the idea of sustainable local foods? just think they need to kick up the flavor a notch.
All vegetarian place with lots of vegan options in Normal Heights with great food! My favorite is the "Neatloaf"... all vegetarian & the plate comes with some tasty mashed potatoes and a salad. There's also a sandwich version with delicious bread.
The building is painted light blue with fluffy clouds on the ceiling. It is a most calming and peaceful place. There is a small parking lot next door with some reserved spots, which I just learned about this year... huge plus as parking in that area can be a hassle.
Great family owned business! The guys who own this business are brothers who started out by selling food at events and street fairs before opening their own restaurant. It's tucked away in the corner of a strip mall on the corner of Mission Gorge & Zion St. Hands down best dish is the Chicken Kelaguin with red rice! Definitely check it out. In the busy summer weekends, may want to call ahead to make sure they're open as they sometimes need to close if they are working at a big event (like the Pacific Islander Festival).
