About a year ago, my fiance and I each ordered a pasta dinner and shared an order of stuffed mushrooms from this restaurant. Although there is no seafood in the stuffing of the mushrooms, we found three mussel shell shards in it, one of which was the size of a dime, all of which were sharp enough to cause serious cuts... we're very lucky neither of us are allergic to shellfish! We vowed never to order from Maciano's again...
... then we decided to give them another chance, which was a mistake. He ordered simple spaghetti and meatballs with mozzarella cheese, I ordered angel hair pasta with white clam sauce, and we shared the stuffed mushrooms again, which totaled almost $35 without the tip. The delivery took an hour and ten minutes to arrive, and when it finally came, there was about a 1/4 cup of grease leaking from the paper bag! We started with the mushrooms, which were watery, rubbery, and tasteless. The meatballs in the spaghetti were tiny with way too much fennel, and when I asked him how it was, he remarked, "Spaghettio's with meatballs would taste better!" We found out that the grease leak in the bag was from my angel hair with clam sauce, but the weird discoveries didn't end there: for some reason, they decided to leave whole clam shells in the pasta. At first, we thought they were a bad attempt at garnish, but when there were 4 of the 5 of them tucked UNDER the pasta, we were confused. Unfortunately, there was a 1/4" X 1/2" piece of clamshell as sharp as a steak knife that I almost bit into. Despite the huge amount of grease that leaked into the bag, the pasta was still very oily, the clams tasted like a blend of old fish and plastic, and the sauce was so bland that I had to add garlic salt and a mound of Parmesan to feel like there was any taste at all.
Most of what we ordered ended up in the trash! Let's just say that they won't get another chance with us. Yuck.
I have Bailey, a great little Shih-Tzu mix that I rescued about a year ago, and although I love him, he is VERY difficult for grooming. After being turned away from another groomer, I tried Le Doggie Divine, and it was the best thing that's happened to us! He comes back smelling clean, looking amazing, and he doesn't look stressed out at all, which is a first! I'm not sure how they do it, but the haircut seems to last a lot longer than it did anywhere else I've taken him, too.
I'll never take Bailey ANYWERE else to be groomed again!
