Love getting together with friends for happy hour here. I do recall a couple of years ago, though, they were noted as having "the dirtiest ice in KC." Not a great claim to fame, but am sure they fixed it fast. Love their appetizers and drink specials. Staff is fun and laid back, but offer nice service. Plenty of parking available, too, which is nice.
Only problem is finding parking to get to the yummy ice cream. All kinds of wacky flavors! I often bring my out of town guests there. One of my favorite summer spots. Nothing pretentious about this place.
I was given some Boulevard Bakery cookies as a gift. So darn cute! They here hand decorated hula dancers! They have literally thousands of different shapes and designs and will do custom orders. Great for thank you gifts, baby showers, bridal showers, sports teams, teacher gifts, etc. Very creative and the recipient is sure to be wowed by the cookies. Lots of designs for holidays, too!
I've only ever ordered one item...the eggplant parm sandwich. LOVE it!! Can get really crowded even with the expanded space, but since I usually go for lunch, I just order my food to go. Parking behind the building is best.
A KC tradition! Love the Garozzo family. Mike, the owner, is a character. Known for chicken spedini, but I do not eat chicken. Love their house salad. The four Garozzo girls have all grown up in the business. I eat there 4-5 times a year. They also cater and have done several events I have attended. Nice wine selection. When I have out of town visitors, we usually hit up Garozzo's (and bar-b-q).
I cannot speak highly enough of "my" Chamber! I joined when I started my business and dove head first into several committees. The staff (Cate, Karla, Kim, and Sheila) are AMAZING. I am usually in the office at least twice a week. They are super supportive of Northland business and do a wonderful job of maintaining and growing their membership, even during the recent economic downturn. I am a 2009 graduate of the Leadership Northland program and HIGHLY recommend it!
Two for One Tacos on Mondays! Can't beat it. LOVE, LOVE this restaurant. It is ALWAYS packed!! The waiting area is literally ON TOP OF the bar and is super congested and it is really hard to hear the hostess when your table is ready, but the stress is worth it when you get to your table. I've never been there without running into at least one other person I know. Great neighborhood place. LOTS of parking behind the building.
Ryan and Bryce remodeled my Waldo home's kitchen. Knocked out a wall, all new cabinets and a granite counter, and rearranged "the triangle." What a transformation! They have a new showroom on State Line in Prairie Village, as well. They were so awesome to work with and my kitchen was done in less than 3 weeks, believe it or not. This was my first home and they walked me through every decision, even the overwhelming decisions. I now rent that house out and the first person I saw rented right away because of the beautiful kitchen. Everyone I show before and after pictures to are literally shocked by the transformation. Love these two brothers running a successful business together!
Super friendly staff. Restaurant is HUGE so do not usually need to wait for a table. Perfect location to watch the Martin City St. Patrick's Day parade. Family owned business. Yummy biscuits, served with gravy. Totally affordable.
Although the gym itself is kinda dirty and needs a better cooling system...I lost 25 pounds in 2 months by participating in the boot camp. Bob kicked my butt! He was quick to compliment me on my body changing, which made me want to work harder. He really challenged me and changed up the workout at every session. We even went outside to run drills. I was the only woman in the class, which also made me work harder. He and his wife are also the self-defense instructors for the TAKE Defense (Ali Kemp) classes. I'd still be there if I did not move an hour away.
