This is a nice place for dinner. The restaurant opened in the last couple of weeks. The sea bass was very tasty as was the salmon.
This place produces a lot of pizza and is crowded with people gobbling it up. The pizza is OK to good depending on what you order. My son likes the pizza with pineapple and ham. There is usually a line on Fri and Sat and this is not the place to go if you are looking for a quiet, laid back pizza joint.
This Thai restaurant serves very affordable lunch fare. They offer a special lunch menu for a very reasonable price--uncer $7.00. The drunken noodles and pad thai are worth trying.
A small restaurant with excellent service. This place has excellent food. Try the gnocchi or the veal--both are superb. Call ahead to make a reservation.
A fun place to dine with friends. Try the vegetarian combo and the meat combo and share it with the table. The meat combo includes doro wet, doro alicha or a tasty but less spicy stew, and yebeg wot--or a lamb simmered in pepper, ginger and other spices. The vegetable combo has a lentil dish, split peas seasoned very nicely, chick peas, chopped collard greens, delicious cabbage, beets, and a salad made from tomatos.
This place comes with a long, long list of recommendations, like, "when in DC you must eat here." So we tried it. Yes indeed the half smoke and chili were awesome. My kids loved the cheese fries. The place was packed and there was no place to sit. The staff were a little hostile.
We got lunch here yesterday. The sandwiches were decent but nothing to get excited over. The brownie and chocolate chip cookies, however, were top notch.
We recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt on H street in downtown Washington D.C. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. The omelets, pancakes and french toast were very good. They had a nice selection of fresh fruit and fruit juices and the usual bagels, breads, pastries and such. The setting for the restaurant is very pretty with fountains and water surrounding the seating area.
We had dinner here last night. There were six of us and we were all pleased with our food choices. They don't have a children's menu but they let us order a half-portion. The food was very good. I ordered the gnocchi with porcini sauce which was very tasty. The canoli dessert was amazing--creamy, crunchy with a chocolate coating. Service was very good. I would recommend this restaurant.
This bike store is located in our neighborhood on Yale and Colorado Blvd. It is large with an excellent inventory of bikes and parts. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable.
