By far, they have some of the best prices and the owner is very courteous and helpful. He literally spent hours with me on our remodel making sure we were getting the right tile.
I worked with Michelle and George during my kitchen remodel and both were extremely helpful and patient with me. The thing that really separates Davis Stone from other countertop places is they let you browse their remnants and if you find a piece that works - the material is free, you only pay for the fabrication!
I have ordered sod from Ewing twice. The first time was years ago and they didn't show up. When I called, I found out they "forgot"to put my order in the system. No apology. So here we are years later and I decided to give them another shot because they still have the lowest price on sod. Delivery was scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning... guess who didn't show up and I had people waiting to install! After we called them, we finally got our delivery around 10:00 Wednesday. Only use them if you don't care when or if your product will arive.
Huge pies at reasonable prices and you can mix and match your sauces. The crust is really nice sourdough, perfect for dipping in the extra marinara!
I have been to a graduation party, a bridal shower, an anniversary party, and a wake at this location, not necessarily in that order, but you get the picture. The bar area looks like its out of the Sopranos, but that is it's charm. I love this place and I love the food and I love that no matter what occassion I'm there for, they make you feel like you're family. Capisce?
I'm always happy to go to a coffee place that is NOT Starbucks, but Claddagh makes it easy. The dark roast is really good, not too acidic and it's a nice addition to the multi-cultural neighborhood.
So I can only speak to the taffy and that is great! Pulled right there in front you, it doesn't get any fresher or tastier.
I had such great memories of Roxie's growing up, that I was almost afraid to go back and try it on my last visit home, but guess what. The Turkey and Provolone on Dutch Crunch is still the bomb!!! I shed a tear.
You wouldn't know it from the outside, but their deli is actually decent! They slice the meats rights in front of you and each sandwich is made to order. Grab a 40 on your way out the door and you're set.
Amongst the gluttony of serious art galleries in Monterey is Rip Squeak which I had never heard of before, but was drawn in by the sweet cartoon animal portraits. Apparently they are children's book characters, but they absolutely work as stand alone framed art. If I had a nursery to decorate, I would do it all in Rip Squeak!
