Adorable little gift/toy shop in the East Village. I bought a lot of trinkets here for my friends' babies and my niece. They carry the cutest Fred Flare items here too.
A four day weekend with your best girlfriend is never complete without a trip to the spa! We got our nails done and I usually never get a design on them but since I was in NY, I though I'd give it a try. I was really impressed with how great it came out, no blemishes or smearing! My nails lasted a good month before the polish started to chip.
My quest for the perfect cup of coffee outside of Seattle continues to be my mission. This place served up pretty decent joe. The croissant that I ordered with my beverage was flaky and buttery.
Although I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing a Magnolia cupcake, my girlfriend assured me that this place has better cupcakes. The first thing that caught my eye was the pistachio cupcake that was on display which unfortunately did not have the best presentation. Imagine crushed green pistachios sprinkled all over the frosting, not the best look. However, the blueberry and red velvet cupcakes tasted oh so good!
I guess I've been spoiled at my favorite confectioner shop in Seattle so these chocolates weren't up to par. They definitely tasted like boxed chocolates you get in a drug store, sadly to say. On the upside, the staff were polite and helpful.
My girlfriend and I sat at the bar, eating appetizers and sipping wine - very Sex and the City! The ceviche was probably the best I've ever had! The lobster with coconut milk and mango was heavenly. The servers were charming. One of my best restaurant experiences!
I wasn't really expecting to spend my Miami vacation in a bowling alley but my bf and I have friends who live there and suggested this place as a low key hang out joint. It took a while to get a lane since the place was quite crowded but with a full bar and some tasty appetizers, the wait wasn't too bad. Being in my 30s though, I felt quite old as the majority of the kids here looked like freshly 21 year olds!
Another great find in the East Village! The clothes are urban and hip and the prices are fantastic! I bought two dresses for a little over $100.
My best friend lives in the East Village. Every time I come out to visit, we hit up this boutique. Everything in New York is so pricey but it's comforting to know that you can find chic clothing at this store for a reasonable price. The patterns and prints of a lot of their pieces are so eye catching and unique!
I have been dying to get a really short 'do so I waited until my trip to NY. My girlfriend and I went to Lovemore & Do. It's more of a lowkey salon, friendly and intimate. My stylist, Sue, was super sweet and helpful and listened to how I wanted my hair cut as I am very particular. I left the salon feeling pampered and beautiful!
