The Metro Market in Proctor is one of the best things in the neighborhood. We like to say it's a much more useful version of Whole Foods, because it has standard staples along with excellent produce. Don't miss the fresh sandwiches and salads at the front of the store. The prime rib sandwich is to die for!
Pour at Four is one of the best places for good food in the Proctor District. They have a great menu with tapas, entrees and desserts. The food is a bit pricey, but the wine is fairly reasonable. Lots of wine tasting events, and the staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable.
This is the best place for donuts that we've found in Tacoma. Great quality, and good deals for a small shop (half dozen for $4). It's very reminiscent of Shipley's Donuts in Houston TX (my hometown).
This place is a classic breakfast stop to get pancakes, waffles or egg scrambles. The prices are good and so is the food.
