I was a client for my 2 dogs at Old Marple for about 2 years before I left. The prices are high, but I was willing to pay because of the 24 hr emergency service they offered. Because of recent experiences I am no longer a client.
It started out that I had trouble seeing the same vet twice, and since there are so many vets there neither myself nor my dogs became comfortable with 1 vet. Recently, I took my 7 yr old Lhasa Apso in to see a specialist as he was having hip problems. The vet he saw did not even touch him; she watched him walk around the room twice and recommended surgery. I was surprised but insisted we try supplements or something other than surgery first. The vet said only that surgery was the best option, left 10min after she arrived, and handed me a large bill. I got a 2nd opinion and was given options from supplements to a different exercise routine to surgery.
I went for a 2nd opinion for other reasons, as my husband's officemate was told her cat needed to be put down at Old Marple, and after her 2nd opinion her cat is alive and healthy 3 years later. One of my own clients was also recommended surgery for her 6 month old puppy and no other options. Old Marple does not seem to care about the animal; only a quick & costly solution to whatever is ailing the poor pet.
In addition, the receptionists are rude, curt, and unhelpful. I went to buy my Frontline there right before the incident with my Lhasa. I asked for the same stuff they dogs always get, expecting to pay $200. The lady swiped my card and asked me to sign for $400. When I said she might have double charged me, replied that I was mistaken on the cost. After a little back-and-forth she finally admitted that they don't carry "regular" Frontline anymore, just "Plus", which is, in fact, double the price. I refused to sign the slip and said I'd go get the Frontline elsewhere. The lady replied in a snotty voice "you can't, so sign here."
I went down the street to PetSmart where Frontline was on sale for $48/box where Old Marple was charging a little over $100.
I am now with Wellington, where I hear all the good vets from Marple went, and I am never going back. My dogs & I are now treated with kindness, respect, honesty and professionalism--everything Old Marple lacks.
I went to Salon Tres Chic a few years ago (June 2006) for my wedding. I've recommended this salon since then to my friends and family who are living in MA & CT, and keep hoping to go back myself. My wedding party had a day of pampering before the wedding, and we were treated kindly & professionally. The day of the wedding, not only did they accomodate my entire wedding party on a Sunday, from the bridesmaids to the young flower girl (who was squirmy in the chair), but my cousin AND my mom all decided to get last-minute up-dos. The stylists were so nice about getting everyone ready, even the last-minute additions. As the bride, my hair and makeup were incredible...my hair was down to my butt and somehow they managed the most elegant, gorgeous up-do. I really felt more beautiful than I had in my entire life. The stylists & artists were so nice and did a wonderful job. Everyone looked and felt amazing!
