Good food. Good ice cream. There is one guy that is really rude that works there. I took my grandmother out to eat here for her b-day and thought I'd try it since I'd never been before. I like good food, but rarely eat anything fried....anyways, I made a suggestion that they should have fish tacos. The woman that took the order seemed pretty interested in it and said if I had a recipe that they would see about it. So I called the next day and asked for their email address and the guy that answered was EXTREMELY rude and hung up on me for suggesting it when I told him what I was calling for. He was a total horses @ss!
? 2 six ounce pieces of any white fish (mahi mahi, etc)
? 2 cups of the lemon juicecilantro herb marinade.
? 8 soft taco shells.
? 2 cups of shredded raw cabbage.
? 1 fresh diced tomato
? small bunch of fresh cilantro
? 1 cup of fish taco white sauce
First rinse thawed fish under cool water and pat dry.
Next, place fish in a plastic bag and pour the marinade over the fish.
Seal bag and mix around with your hands.
Marinate in the refrigerator no more than 30 minutes.
Next, dice one tomato, and shred up some cabbage. Then go start your grill or fryer*.
Grillfry fish until flaky and not pink in the middle. Don't over-cook.
Cut fish into sections. Put a couple sections on a taco and top with the white sauce,
cabbage and tomato. Serve with a small amount of fresh salsa on the side.
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
1/3 cup of plain yogurt
1 tsp of fresh lime juice
1/2 to 1 tsp of chipotle hot sauce
Mix the above ingredients together and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
*for frying: dip fish into a beer batter first. Beer only batter, no eggs!! If grilling, don't use the beer batter, just grill it after marinating it.
Small store that is always sold out of items. Never knows when they're going to get more stock in....sometimes they don't re-order items for several weeks. If you try to shop at 8 pm on a SatSunMon night the shelves look like something from a war ravaged country: EMPTY! Additionally, last time I was in there I asked 2 different workers where something was only to be told "We don't carry it". I went down another aisle besides the previous 3 I looked in before I stopped and asked. I figured "Well I will take one last look down this other aisle before I check out cause I didn't find it in the other 3 aisles". There was the item, crammed onto a top shelf next to NOTHING similar at all and totally not where any average consumer looking would think to find it. I took the item and went up to the worker I asked before I looked a 4th time and said "You don't sell this, correct?" I was so angry that by the time I got up to the counter to cash out the rest of my stuff I told them I didn't want the item! I live here and shop this Walmart only when I absolutely have to. Mostly I try to go to Super Walmart in Woodsville because they have more selection and I can take a freezer bag and grocery shop too while I'm at it. It's easier to park in Woodsville too, so if you're looking to really shop and stock up, go down there. Try shopping Walmart in Littleton and you'll wish you'd saved yourself the hassle. Watch out while in the parking lot too: Two of my friends have gotten their cars smashed by people pulling out and not looking. One friend had her car rammed so hard it drove it from one side of the lane to the other when they t-boned her!
Small store, high prices. The only things I buy here are bulk items like fresh spices, turbinado sugar, etc. If you're trying to buy anything else there's not much selection and its pretty pricey. For non-bulk items I usually go to VitaminShoppe.com and stock up on any vitamins, creams, etc because they have $2.99 supersaver shipping no matter how large your order is. Can't beat that, especially if you buy Natures Gate, Jason, Kiss My Face or any other products that are higher in-store pricing, you save quite a bit. It pays to shop around and know what other retailers (online and offline) are charging for the same products.
