This is THE place in Seattle for Birkenstocks. Yeah, they are hippie and granola but they are also great for traveling and walking alot. Good for your feet! They have all the Birkenstock styles as well as some fun socks.
Egyptian always has a good film, not the blockbuster kind of films but indie films and foreign films. Fun neighborhood too!
The food here is made for sharing but it is so good you might not want to. The pancake is delicious! I love the fresh aromatic greens that come with many of the dishes. You might have to wait for a table during busy times. Wait staff is very patient and friendly.
Consider Seattle's weather and that there is always a line out the door for this place. It is for good reason! Ice cream is thick and velvety. They make their waffle cones on site (you'll smell them a block away!). Compostable spoons and recycle bins. Interesting flavors, some are seasonal. Salted caramel, honey lavender, balsamic strawberry . . . must get some now . . . .
Lovely good quality clothing sold by genuine people. Mix and match for ensembles that can be worn every day, all year long. The women working at Eileen Fisher will help build a collection that works for you. Look in the back for marked down items - just past season. Eileen Fisher often has events where a percent of sales are donated to the cause of the worker's choice.
A Mano has gorgeous old-world traditionally hand-made shoes, hand bags and belts. Very unique styles that withstand the passage of time. I'd be embarrassed to tell you how many shoes I've purchased from here. Neeley also offers beautiful one of a kind jewelry. She's got a good buyers eye! And, she's a lovely person to boot!
I walked in and said I was looking for rubber boots, rain gear and rubber gloves for clam-digging at the ocean. The sales person was knowledgeable and selected the items I needed. My taxi yellow farmer john' just got retired after more than 5 years of digging! Thr rubber boots and gloves have many more years of life.
My first experiece with acupunture was with Lesli. She explained what to expect and I found the series of sessions to be quite relaxing. She supplemented my treatment with Chinese herbs.
Beve is very knowledgeable and shares an abundance of information. She documents the important stuff for take-away. It's all about eating good food, the right food, and supplementing wth vitamins where necessary for you. She assesses your needs based on interview and blood work.
