I had been looking forward to going here, I love good BBQ ribs. Went with a party of 7 (separate checks)We were seated immediately, orders taken in a timely fashion (with understanding of how guests were grouped) the drinks, salads etc were served in a timely manner, then a long wait for the meals. When the waitress delivered the meals, she served them from one end of the table, calling out what the meal was and passing them down so you had to identify yours and grab it, much confusion. The ribs were fairly good, but nothing "special" The waitress did not return until everyone was almost done. I had to ask for a refill on my "all you can eat" ribs. A busboy returned some time later, with a small plate with about a half serving of ribs, I wanted more, but never got the opportunity to order. The waitress returned and started clearing the other end of the table, said she needed a bus cart, and never returned. after about 20 min a different girl came and put the checks in a pile on the table and left. We started trying to figure out which was whose, and finally figured out they were grouped incorrectly. I went to the front and asked to speak to the manager, the seating host pointed to a man near the kitchen. I asked him if he was the manager, he acknowledged he was, but remained distracted by kitchen orders. I tried to explain the problem, his reply was go back to your table, I will be there. He never came, instead about 10 min later the original waitress came back, made notes on the checks and came back in another 10 min with "corrected" checks. She never acknowledged my complaint about the all you can eat, (neither had the manager). We had arrived between 5:00 and 5:30 with all the delays (including at least 30 min correcting the checks), the corrected checks were time stamped 6:54 we didn't get out of the restaurant until about 7:15 two hours for a lousy meal with the most horrible service I have ever encountered. The manager never visited our table, even though he went right past while the waitress was making her correction notes, making a comment to a busboy setting up for another group to the extent "if they don't like it oh well". (don't know if he was talking about us or the other party). Bottom line, I will NEVER return to a Sonny's even if it were free!
We have eaten here several times, and have always been quite satisfied with the food and excellent service. Menu items are nicely prepared, and are a good value both quality and price. The included Salad/Soup bar is always fresh and plenty of variety. We have had their breakfast buffet [Sat Sun Only], no breakfast other days, which also has a nice variety. The Staff are always friendly, courteous, and helpful. We frequently recommend this place to others. The map location is wrong, GPS is N 40.488193, W 78.032732
Billed as just a pizza shop, we found they have a limited, but very good pasta menu in a quaint cafe setting. Enjoyed it very much, and the prices were reasonable GPS 40.215534, -78.244262
Currently work camping here, I think this is a wonderful campground, but obviously my opinion is biased. Several cabins and full hook-up sites, plenty of tent sites, including those near restrooms, and "primitive" sites in heavily wooded area, also have facilitys and campsites for larger groups. The owners Ben & Janet are always friendly and helpful, giving information about the area, and any other assistance needed. The campground is mostly mostly wooded with trails, and even a catch and release pond. Boat launch (located at Snyders Run) is just 1.5 mi from the center of campground. Located just 2.5 mi off SR22 at 11601 Piney Ridge Rd
