Not only do my dogs love to go there but I want to stay there also! The care of the animals is meticulous, very affectionate and professional. The countryside is absolutely beautiful with rolling meadows and lakes on the property; the suites are like miniature hotel rooms with views of the property from within the suite and the connected outside runs; the rooms have a bed,a couch, a dog bed, and tvs; soothing music plays in an airy, tasteful hallway that connects the rooms; and the kitchen is large and open, and kept like a restaurant. The website just doesn't begin to do this place justice. The dogs always come home relaxed and looking great. If you need to, they can pick up and deliver your dog, but you really should see it yourself: you'll never go anywhere else. I have even done several unexpected drop ins--- everyone is relaxed, the medications are taken, on schedule (you can see each pet's chart on the door to their suite or kennel, depending on where you have them stay), and sometimes the pets are out for a walk, a swim in the lake, or are otherwise at play.
There are many repeat customers, so it's pretty clear that the animals and the people who run the kennel (not much staff turnover since I've been there many years ago) seem to know each other well! The owner, whom I met many times, was a professional dog trainer for field trials, is a horseman, and has spent her life dedicated to raising and caring for animals. Once you meet her, you can see why this place has the character and professionalism that it does.
I am an animal person, obviously, and this is the only place my dogs will ever go. Same with a cat if I ever get one! This place is the real deal and I really can't say enough about it. There's a tremendous trust component to leaving your pet with someone: there is no question that Mountain Run Kennel has earned my total trust and loyalty.
