The food here is good - but it's not the typical Vietnamese pho type of place. It's more of a fusion of Chinese and Vietnamese and maybe slightly Americanized. The owner is super friendly and will come around and chat and tend to you. I love their vegetarian egg rolls! Even tastes better than most regular Vietnamese egg rolls I've tasted anywhere. They can even make great dipping sauce that tastes like fish sauce but IS NOT fish sauce. Be sure you have cash though coz they don't take credit cards. Although I did go there once for lunch and forgot cash and he just told me to pay back next time I come in. Now that's one of a kind!
I love this place. This was THE place I'd go for lunch when I use to work in the area. The owner and his wife is very personable and if you have special requests - they'll try to accommodate you. Ice cream is probably the last thing you think of when you're here - but if you love coconut and you love fresh ice cream, you have to try it here. I LOVE LOVE their coconut ice cream. It's freshly made and oh so yummy!
I've been to all three of the Khun Dang's and I still like the one on Topanga better. Maybe because this place is still new when we went there (a couple of times) and their woks haven't accumulated all the flavors :D. I find the food a little bit bland and not as flavorful as food from the other two locations. The beef jerky is the signature dish for Khun Dang and it's a must order regardless of which location we visit. I'll probably go back to this location and give it another try. But for sure will visit the other locations if I'm in the area.
This buffet is definitely one of the best in Vegas. It's also the priciest. But if you're only in Sin City once in a while - it is worth it. The last time I was there - it was $35+ for dinner. And the food is amazing - the desert is equally amazing. Since it opened its doors in 2005, I've been there at least 5 times and I must say - in comparison to when it first opened - the quality has gone down a little bit. Of course the price has gone up too. I was blown away the first time I was there - they paid attention to every single detail and made sure it gives patrons an unforgettable experience. Even down to the teas they serve - I'll never forget it - the green tea I ordered came in this little intricate pyramid box that has a little leaf sticking out at the top which acts as the handle for the teabag. Now - you get a generic grocery type teabag. But all in all - the food still tastes great and once in awhile you get some exotic fruits in the fruit basket.
I love this place. The place is small but the staffs are very friendly. Whenever I urgently need inks or papers for my epson and I can't wait for my online shipments, I make a quick run to them. There are only a few retailers carrying the inks and papers I use and by far - Canoga Camera has the cheapest prices and are in stock most of the time. There's also a student discount if you can provide proof.
This is one of those neighborhood fresh eatery/market/catering place on the westside. I've been here quite a few times and everyone there is really friendly. It's one of those places where if you've been there more than enough and have chatted enough - you could just literally go behind the counter and serve yourself. Their savory scone is the best! I forget to ask what's in it - but whatever it is, it's good for you and delicious! If only I live in the area - this would probably be a place I'd wake up - bring my Sunday newspaper and chill by their high community table with a cup of freshly brewed coffee or their fragrant teas.
Encore is the sister wing of the Wynn Hotel Casino. We stayed at Encore Tower Suite (all the rooms at Encore are suites) and it was beautifully decorated in a sophisticated modern style. Very spacious and clean. The pool area is quaint and very peaceful. If you want an elegant and peaceful get-away to de-stress - definitely give this place a try.
This IS the famous Carnegie Deli - except you don't have to fly to NY to grab their famous pastrami. At about $16 for their famous pastrami - you're pretty much paying for all the meat!!! I swear just bring a loaf of bread and you can spread the meat to feed a family of 4! The pastrami is flavorful, juicy, and literally melts in your mouth. Definitely a must try - obviously not in front of your vegetarian friends!
FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE! That's all I gotta say...it's a must have!!! Talk about decadent and sinful - this dessert drink has it all. It's huge and sharing is a must. Be sure to order their sweet potato fries when you're having the frozen hot chocolate because you'll need a little bit of savory to balance out this scrumptious drink. It is a full cafe style restaurant - so there are other types of food if you're hungry. But when I'm here - both my regular stomach and dessert stomach are reserved for the desserts.
This is Jean Philippe's new location inside the Aria Hotel Casino. The desserts/chocolates are to die for! The mini treats are elegantly decorated - simply too good to eat. They also serve sandwiches and crepes. Although there's no record setting chocolate fountain here - I think this location is much better than the one in Bellagio since it's a little bit bigger and the design of the space is much more open with seating area for you to chill and enjoy your treats. Great for people watching while you're having a gelato or one of their delicious treats.
