All I can say is that we did not have the negative experience that many are posting on here. Our situation was also not as dire as some that have been described, and I understand that plays a part in the perception of the experience. We brought our dog in for a burst anal abscess, which was very scary for us at the time since we had no experience with the condition, but turned out to be not as serious as it looks. We were treated very fairly and felt like the bill for the exam, antibiotics and draining/cleaning his wound was quite fair for an "emergency" facility. It's going to be more expensive than your regular vet, just like going to the emergency room is more expensive than seeing your regular doctor, so just know that before you call ANY emergency clinic.
