The menu is huge, the staff is friendly, the service is usually good, and the food is always fresh and delicious. We've been going here for both dining in and take out for many years. The only problem I ever have here is deciding what to order. The display of enormous baked goods for sale is worthy of a photo. I've never seen such big pastries and cookies anywhere else. I think they must have a giant baker.
This is a very nice place for special occasions, with excellent food, warm and inviting atmosphere, and good service. As for the person who had a bad experience on one Valentine's Day, I think you should give them another chance when it's not one of the busiest days of the year for most restaurants, which also includes Mother's Day and New Year's Eve. Stay home next Valentine's day, and try Mona Lisa again any other night.
We love Albertos. It's kind of hidden away, near the movie theatre in Seymour, but I highly recommend you find it. I've never had a bad meal there, the food is always very good. The pizza is my favorite, the chicken marsala is excellent, and they do a very nice Ceasar salad. I would eat there all the time if I could. I've been there many times, and only had one bad experience with service, when the waitress asked me if I was done when I was still chewing with the fork in my hand. Pay attention! She got in my face a little too much for my liking (a close talker), which made me uncomfortable. And, she put the check down right in front of the oldest male in our party. That's just wrong. Don't assume who is paying! The check should be presented to the person who requests it, or placed in nuetral territory. Just so you know.
Who said you can't see the lake? Where were you? The view is awesome, the decor and overall atmosphere has improved since it was the Riverside. That being said, they are constantly changing their menu and prices. It is too expensive, and the food is just average. They no longer have pizza, which is disappointing because it used to be good. But with the ever changing menu and prices, repeat customers never know what to expect. It's a decent place to stop for a drink and sit outside, but that's about it. Parking is a problem, especially on busy weekends. When it was the Riverside, a few years back, the food was consistently good with reasonable prices. My family and I used to dine there on many special occasions. We don't anymore.
