I was very happy with the florals at Pretty Things. They have a very nice assortment of flowers and containers that have unusual shapes and markings. I like their designs and think when I have more time to go back and have a more in depth conversation about arrangements. They were busy when I was there, but they did take the time to answer my cursory questions.
Desert Images has beautiful succulents we have planted all along our back yard. I've always been very lucky with the plants I've gotten from them. They are healthy and the staff is a wealth of knowlege on the proper care.
I had Gigi's Flower Garden deliver a thankyou arrangement to my wonderful sister for taking time out of her day to help me with my wedding plans. They delivered the arrangement a day after I ordered it and it looked very pretty from the pictures I received. It lasted about a week, so when we went up for more wedding errands, they still looked pretty good.
I found some very nice pearl earrings at Churchill Jewelers that I'm considering for my attendant gifts for my wedding. The very friendly and awfully helpful salesman gave me a lot of great suggestions on gifts I could pick. The earrings were my favorite and they gave me a small, but appreciated discount if I bought eight pair at once. I still have to talk to my fiance about our budget, but I'm so glad I've finally narrowed my choices down.
I went in to Patco Jewelers looking for rings for my fiance and I and wound up having them fix my sister's wedding ring instead! While we were out shopping, her ring somehow came off her finger and I stepped on it, totally mangling it. I felt so bad, we rushed back into Patco, where we had been not more than an hour ago and showed them the mangled mess. They were able to fix the ring and get it back into the correct shape and rest the stone that had come awry. I felt so bad, I bought a charm for my mom while they were making the repair.
Silverhorn Jewelers rings were a bit on the gaudy side for my taste. They tend to have very big, very over the top rings that just overpower my hands. I tried on several of their rings and the salesman was very nice, but we can't afford their prices and honestly, I really didn't like any of them. I think the salesman was frustrated with me for having him pull out so many rings for me to try, but if you don't try them on, how are you supposed to know if they work with your bone structure?
I found the perfect, most gorgeous ring ever at Oliver & Espig Jewelers. I stopped in to see what they had as far as rings for our wedding, but discovered the rings they carry are much different. My gaze was immediately drawn to one of the most unusual creations I've ever seen that was a collection of colored stones. I was in this jewelry shop for far too long because there were moments I was ready to plunk down my credit card and explain to my fiance after the fact.
B on Main appears to be a kitschy kind of gift shop to me. We went in to look around and they have what I refer to as the tourist selection of nautical themed tablewear, chotchkies, jewelry, sunglasses, etc. It took us all of 5 minutes to sweep the store and sweep out. They may have a lot of things, but nothing I would say was quality. Fun, yes, quality, no.
I was so taken aback by the sheer beauty of the glass suncatchers at Specra Vision, I literally stopped in my tracks and had to go into this store. I was looking for ideas for my bridal party, but was completey distracted by their bold use of color and how they put their pieces together. I bought several butterflies that now hang beautifully in my garden.
I love browsing through Treasures N Things. I used to make porcelain dolls eons ago and recognize many of the handmade dolls in their collection from those days. Shay and Jade and Daisy Garland all bring back memories. My Flossie is dressed very differently from what they have, but I always enjoy going in and talking to the lady who runs the shop. They make me want to get back into doll making.
