I had such a nice shopping experience at Alessi's Jewelry. I've been looking for a specific type of pendant/necklace and had all but given up hope when I found Alessi's. They gave me some guidance on where to go for my custom order, which I absolutely appreciated. They didn't have to help me, but they did. Their kindness struck me so much, I've referred several family members to them, one of which has purchased a ring from these very kind people.
I found W W Wholesale Jewelry through a friend and thought I would give them a shot to see what they had. This is more of an engagement ring and wedding ring store. I didn't care for much of their designs; but the prices seemed very reasonable.
I was impressed by the absolute creativity that Gold Arts demonstrated when I gave them the picture I was trying to recreate for my mom. She likes Aztec inspired jewelry and Gold Arts was able to give me a quote on a custom piece. That's pretty much all they do, custom pieces, and for the most part, it was very exciting. I'm saving now to commission the piece and can't wait until I can get the piece of my mom's dreams specially made for her.
I've found for the most part, jewelry stores in malls are overpriced and the salespeople not the most honest. I didn't get a good feeling at all from the staff at 5th Avenue when I walked in looking for some specific items. I don't mind having a salesperson hover if I need help, but I don't like being 'sold' while I'm trying to assess what they have. I like browsing first, then asking questions if needed. I felt hounded and was suspicious of many of the things this over enthusiastic salesman was telling me.
I thought the overall design of the jewelry from Roberto Brun Goldsmith was pretty standard from what I've been seeing in other jewelry stores, so in the originality aspect, they are okay. Their service was very good and the person I was working with was very patient, didn't try to 'sell' me and listened to what I wanted. Their service is why people return to them.
I found Be Iced to have a great program that you can turn in your old jewelry and use the value towards a new item or put it on a store card for future purchases. I brought in some broken chains and a couple of rings I don't wear anymore and went the card route. I just returned and picked up the most fantastic necklace. It was so nice being able to do this and made me able to afford even more.
I love the ecclectic jewelry by Donald Beres Jewelers. Their showing during the Pageant of the Masters was great. Their use of color and stones makes their work so original and unique. I always look forward to creative uses and was not disappointed at all.
Raffi's Fine Jewelry has a beautiful jewelry selection with quality salespeople. I was looking for a very particular setting for my mom, but they didn't have exactly what I was looking for. I was impressed with their selection and would try them again in the future.
I looked at several really nice mantle clocks at Dave's Clock Shoppe and got the most interesting education on the history of mantle clocks. They have wall clocks and grandfather clocks as well. I was very impressed by their knowledge base. They were very helpful to me.
I absolutely love, love, love the gold and diamond earrings I bought from Laura Carley Designs. Their design aesthetic overall is so nice and very different that what you would normall find in other jewelers. They do quality work with innovative designs. I always get compliments whenever I wear their jewelry.
